I'm thankful my parents got me braces. My teeth weren't horrible (had the braces for 1.5-2 years) but they look way better after having them. If you have the means financially then I would definitely say go for it

go with invisalign. most orthodontists will do free consultations, get as many quotes as possible. for example, I was told I wasn't an invisalign candidate by multiple orthos and was quoted 6k for metal braces. found another ortho who will do full invisalign for 4.6k zero down zero percent financing in house. orthodonists and dentists are worse than pajeets, don't trust them.

I read it is much more expensive and slower.

For those whose teeth are not terribly crooked, they may also want to look into Smile Direct Club, who also use clear plastic aligners. It's quite a bit less expensive than Invisalign and results are good. Also, because they're user removable, you shouldn't have any problems keeping your teeth clean. I used them and it only took 6 months to straighten out my teeth.

I wore a retainer for 6 years after I had braces and one day said fuck it. My teeth shifted a bit but they haven't really changed that much. It's been about 4 years so far since I stopped wearing it.

Not saying they won't shift because mine obviously have. But worst case scenario I have to get braces again in another 6 years from now. My teeth are still incredibly straight compared to what they once were.

After removing your braces try to go for fix retainers. My dumb orthodontist got me normal removable retainers and now I have to wear they to sleep for the rest of my life, it's pretty annoying. Other wise my teeth start moving once again. They used to be like Ronaldinho teeth very separate

Fixed my teeth as well, started with 35 - so never too late, just takes longer. Insurance even paid for most of it, just had to pay like 1k for extras. The only regret i have, is not doing it earlier. Can recommend.
