Talk about your job as a freight broker or ask freight brokers anything (...please speak to me I'm tired of dealing with sub 80iq retards and pajeets all day...)

Why are you forcing this meme and these threads

I just want to potentially connect with other freight brokers and share feels. Also I want to let people know about my job as I've pretty much never heard freight brokering discussed on Jow Forums.

bump. get in here I know you're lurking.

are you the guy who keeps posting this same thread every single day complaining about being a freight broker?

doesnt shipchain et al make this faggot obsolete already?

Yes I do like to vent sometimes (in one thread once a day). Why does this thread bother you guys at least it's actually on topic unlike pink wojaks or threads about being a virgin.

licensed Customs broker here. easiest job ever after you pass the test.

So what do you do working as a freight broker?

Is freight brokerage part of the logistics industry?

I heard logistics companies are one of the fastest growing startup companies, at least here in canada.

What exactly is your day like? Do you just collect customs docs and then send them off to clear shipments?

>So what do you do working as a freight broker?

>Prospect new customers (this will take up a large portion of your time until you have many regular customers)
>Provide customers with quotes
>Find trucks to cover the loads
>Deal with bullshit problems
>Talk to pajeets and other subhumans

>Is freight brokerage part of the logistics industry?
Yes it's a middleman between trucking companies and businesses that require transportation.

bump

we do both clearance and freight. typical day is mostly entering commercial invoice data (value & classification, and annoying other gov't agency data like FDA, EPA, etc. if applicable) into a proprietary system that interfaces directly with US Customs.

otherwise you're working on quotes for new and existing clients, port-port, door-door or anything in between. and yes many annoying pajeets asking for quotes.

user im crying w joy, I made the FBG yesterday and was about to give up, i just refreshed and saw this.

TELL US SOME PAJEET STORIES

Attached: fb.jpg (661x269, 51K)

How well does that pay? I've heard it's easy for customs brokers since once you on-board a customer they're highly unlikely to ever leave you whereas they could use a dozen different freight brokers.

I saw your thread but I wasn't able to post for some reason.

bump

Fuck off pajeet

n-no you don't understand i'm not the pajeet i hate pajeets!

bump

sage
fuck off attentionseeking niggerfaggot get a real job

What is your problem? What is wrong with people on here I make a thread actually discussing a career/industry and everyone gets mad as if it's offtopic shitposting.

Would it better if I asked how I can make $50k/yr passive income from $2000 or how to get a gf or some other bullshit?

What's your MC number?

post how much link can you move on one freight contract

I support ya freight broker bro, cross dock manager here
> 2 more weeks and I'm done with this hell

They're not really used here

Thanks man and nice job escaping!

> Wanted to end up doing this
> My first 3 reviews early in my career requested learning international
> Noted!
> International position finally opens 2 years later
> Haha sorry user, we need you way too much in domestic
._.

Thanks! I think these threads could help a lot of the sad fucks on /biz without jobs. You can walk into a warehouse with no HS diploma and in a few years have an actual career. Logistics in general is based af and doesn't get much attention, despite the few monotonous jobs like brokerage.

>I think these threads could help a lot of the sad fucks on /biz without jobs

Exactly man. Why the fuck are people on here constantly hating on me and telling me to fuck off? I make a simple thread about a career and industry that's extremely rarely talked about and is easy to get into with decent pay compared to many other options available to people of this board.

There's so much worse threads like
>TFW kissless virgin
>TFW no friends
>"Are x girls a good investment?"
>Pink wojak
>some other nonsense or a googleable question
That no one says anything about.

Not even mentioning the constant link threads
> Goes up 1%
WE MOONING BOYS!!!!
> Drops by 1%
WE DUMPING BOYS!!!!!

I actually was just going to start a freight broker thread but i checked the catalogue first.
> Why is your job so important to you?

>> Why is your job so important to you?
It isn't but it's the best paying job I could get with the perks it has at the moment
>> Buy btc and link and maybe eth and no more freight
Nah I'm not delusional
>> Won't this job become automated in the near future?
Everything will be automated in the near future according to (((experts)))

bump

Did supply chain for ups and was always interested in being more independent custom brokerage because it paid shit but good bennys.

Who has it worse, you or the truckers?

Probably the truckers desu

Is this the new shrimp farm?

> be op
> Hate your job
> Try to bond with similar people
> Go to Malaysian cow breeding forum for friendship
> Try and get others involved in your miserable occupation
Truly elder god tier stuff op

Fuck truck drivers, when you deal with them enough for long enough you live by a simple saying
> I'll start having pity for the drivers when they have to pull the truck.

If we had a freight brokering community on here we could help each other. Imagine how cool it would be to have a general for a profession on Jow Forums.

Sounds good but why such an obscure profession?

Honestly seems like a job that would be right up many Jow Forumsanons alley.

I think a logistics general makes way more sense.

Yeah that's true I'll revise it for next time. Or hopefully someone else will make it as I feel like I'm just annoying people now.

What is the average weekly hours worked?

How much could a begginer make on average?

40 hours a week but some wagies work more.

Most people probably make about $50-60k after about a year. A few people make way more and a lot either quit or got fired (in most brokers).

Whats the best way to get a job as a freight broker? What cities in the US are the best or can you work remotely?

You don't need much, it's a very high turnover job. I'm sure there's a few brokerages in your nearest major city that are currently hiring.

Looks like most places want experience or for you to have your own book of business

Every jobs say they want experience it's just something they say apply to them anyway they hire anyone

What're some strategies and techniques you use ?

I send shippers pictures of nice asses to entice them to do business with us.

Im an in house freight broker. We’re a storage company and our midwest warehouse was getting hammered by brokers so we started our own and charge them less, thus lowering our opportunity cost. Sort of confused me at first bc we were profiting off our own company but it all made sense when I figured out the incentive structure. Pleasantly surprised to see this thread!

>qt slav freight broker came into my office recently to try and get us to sign on with her
your job cant be that bad if you have qts at your office.

Gee it's almost like nobody cares

What does that mean I don't quite understand

Must be a rare exception pretty much everything at my office is male and i've never seen an attractive female broker.

Imagine your biggest customer, or one even waaay bigger. They have in-house departments eventually because they ultimately realize they are losing money by overpaying you for transportation. I can only imagine by realizing the incentive he realized how much money his department saves his employer. Just a guess tho.

> Tfw maybe I could be your freight broker tonight ?

Attached: 1545983788170.jpg (2011x3000, 984K)

ill never a girl like this

Oh possibly, I've always wondered why my largest customers don't just do that. It'd be way cheaper to just pay one or two people full-time salaries to handle logistics in many cases. I just couldn't quite understand what he meant.

y-you too

Yeah eventually they realize this themselves, or put the duty of logistics under project managers etc. Don't worry for every 1 that does, 10 new retarded people start businesses that haven't yet.

I want to get out of this field user. Or maybe do something less stressful and more rewarding.

I've been weighing getting a degree or trying to break into another area of sales. It just doesn't feel fulfilling being a freight broker.

Attached: pepe_depressed_room.jpg (500x484, 41K)

bump

Yeah I don't blame you, I'm honestly blessed, don't take this the wrong way but am in a much more stressful position doing 70+ hours per week and am finally escaping to a cushy 40 hour per week corporate role, just 2 more weeks of hell and I'm comfy. Just keep your head up, keep grinding, and get out when you can.

You've told me user. I am happy for you, honestly I almost want to go back to school. It could open so many doors for me and I have a fair bit saved/invested now.

I am quitting... on few data. This work IS bullshit and Will Be automated due to smart contracts. I did ocean and Air stuff. I am not FUCKING problem solver anymore for anybody. and getting paid shit and shit jobs. Brokers are the most shitted field you can be.

It's not a bad idea, I'm gonna be starting back sooner than later, the new jobs great but in no way where I intend to end up. And thank you. The only shitty part is really the only way I've ever dealt with the stress is dudeweedlmao and haven't smoked in case they drop a surprise piss test on me before I start, so it's been an even rougher few weeks.

Freight bro do you have a degree? Surely there must be something else out there for you.

freightbro u havent even told us your savings/portfolio breakdown in any of these threads.

I thought air was big money? A few air freight brokers I know make a killing...

It sounds killer compared to what you described your current job as. Good going.

No I don't have one.

Yeah kind of lucked into it, got headhunted on LinkedIn. Quick phone interview, extensive interview process with 5 other candidates, and boom, I'm going to be integrating logistics processes for victorias secret new e-commerce division called Victorias Secret Direct. Only downside is my chances to get metooed have jumped 10000%. Like I said keep your head up and keep working. As much as it sucks and can be hard to believe, there's people with 50k+ student loan debt making much less than you.

Sounds good man, at least you'll get to look at hot women instead of sweaty fat shipper asses all day.

>As much as it sucks and can be hard to believe, there's people with 50k+ student loan debt making much less than you.

Yes I know, and I'm thankful for it. A few of my friends have community college and university degrees making around the same or even less money. But I still don't want to use that as a cope and stagnate.

Yep plus get to offer thots a hefty discount on victorias secret and bath and body works. You've got the right mentality, it just takes time.

Free shipping killed the freight broker?

No. Things you have brokered out don't come with free shipping.

Man I want to start my own Jow Forums general

Attached: 1533098206572.png (600x533, 130K)

it is really quite simply sir, just start a thread and put something like "curry general" and some generla info about cyrry
