Smartx is a DAG project that might do some damage in future. Like way in the future though because they haven't launched test net yet.
It's supposedly a Block-DAG project that will solve the scalability problem when it's up and running. Totally self funded with a faucet/air drop campaign ongoing and the team is made up of Tencent and Wechat engineers.
I'll be waiting for listing to scoop up some cheap tokens, unless the air drop is worth it though.

B-DAG, is explained in the image below. Data is given multiple routes which have the same direction and will never loop back to where the route starts. For example, from the single starting point, data points can be linked linearly to each other while no future data will ever link back to the beginning. One transaction confirms the next. There is no longer need for a Proof of Work confirmation on every transaction.

First of all blockchains are DAGs, not all DAGs are blockchains, Hashgraph isn't a blockchain for example.
Second other DAGs have overall weak security models, they either rely on centralized actors (the coordinators of IOTA/the corporate entities in Hashgraph) or will shit the bed at the first serious spam (Nano), they just trade security for performance.
Blockchains are still and will remain the shit because they offer a balanced model in terms of availability, consistency and finality.
Non blockchain DAGs can only be secure if there is a crazy high number of transactions treated or if there is centralization (which defeats the purpose of trustlessness).
My point is: don't fall for the new shiny shit and technobabbles.
