>What is a freight broker? To put it simply a freight broker is a middleman between trucking companies and truckers looking for a load to haul, and companies that require transportation. They make money on the spread by charging the customer $x + a margin while paying the trucker $x.
>What are the benefits Working from home is common, no face-to-face interaction, decent pay for the amount of effort/skills/credentials required.
>What are the downsides Working/interacting with the lowest scumbags of society, stressful, high turnover rate
I'm all alone..... just a mere freightbroker trying to make it in this cold hard world
Isaiah Hill
Isn’t this something that computers do? Like electronic rendering systems?
Basically Company X wants to ship some lumber or whatever from their wood milk in Nebraska to some boomer’s McMansion in Chicago. Some lady at X types some shit into a web page that pops up on screens in front of the ladies who work at carriers. Each carrier says they’ll do it for $YYYY and the lady at X just picks one.
Two days later an angry Punjabi stinks up the drivers room with his curry BO while he complains about the delay. No being familiar with toilets, he shits in the bushes by the creek while he waits to be loaded.

What’s the average pay for a freight broker? I imagine you get a commission fee as well as some sort of base pay (assuming you work for a company).
Jaxon Jackson
You get a base salary + commission or just straight commission.
It really varies but i think the average broker probably makes $50-70k a year. Some make way more though.
Keep at it freight broker bro, if nothing else you've created a pretty good meme on /biz. > t. Cross dock manager It's my Sunday so just waking up before going out for breakfast followed by day drinking. 2 more weeks. Just 2 more weeks.

Keep us posted on how the new job goes in two weeks. Stay in touch. I've been bouncing around the idea of starting a freight brokerage with other Jow Forumsanons. We can do this.
