Green, Green everywhere

VIX is down to 16 as of yesterday, probably gonna tumble again today.

A buy at 10 to 12 is guaranteed profit as soon as le tariff man tweets again. He's been unusually silent as of late.

How do you buy VIX? Would it be ^VIX

Attached: 632A69CA-25EC-4643-B75D-6C85775F9DA9.jpg (1125x2061, 383K)

After yesterday, I'm now positive $256.91 for September... yay...

There are a few ETFs that track it IIRC

Downsize risk is to 8-9ish. Upside is obviously 20+.

The Hong Kong stock market dropped today because a technical failure in the exchange's system made it pretty much impossible to trade futures, as a result traders are selling stocks directly to cover their position...

There are no coincidences.

Isn’t VIX used for a fear gauge? I can’t buy it directly right?. I’d have to take a position in futures or buy VIX based exchange traded products.. like VIXY, VIIX, VXXB.. I’ve never dabbled in futures yet need to look into that

^^ Also another question.. does this mean stock market volatility is lower the more it drops? Or how can I use this to help my trading?

you buy derivatives like like VXX (vix etf)

VIX is high when there is incertitude about the direction of the market. It means traders fear to be wrong (in either direction)

I'm up 239.00 (1.67%) overall so far. T-babies and AMRN are 2 of my largest holdings.

Hope the Green wave keeps up rest of week.

Ignore the retarded HEXO sell call, other than that. I think I'm getting better at options trading. Thanks for the tips, biz

Damn, we bullish now. As long as Trump keeps away from making bearish comments on Twitter about China, we'll probably rally to new highs before the talks begin.
For the traders, clear uptrend now. Don't hunt for shorts.

Can someone help me understand why do a DRIP dividend strategy when there are dividends every stinking day?
Yesterday I wrote a program that goes to a website(pic related) and finds the best rated stock with the highest dividend yield for tomorrow. Then it goes all in, waits until a day where the stock is in the green, sells, and finds another one.
Why have 4 dividend days every year when you can have 200?
The ROI is only about 1% per trade, but it seems foolproof and recession-proof.

Why the fuck did we break through the crab zone?

Thanks fren. I’m going to try and start using VIX in my strategy

that's right, there is no buying spot vix. make sure you understand contango, backwardation, and contract rolling before dabbling in products that track vix futures.

Oh shit. I got a lot more reading to do on this now. Thanks for the heads up though fren

Srsly. Who killed Crab-sama?

We're not out yet. There's still a chance of rejection somewhere in 2980-3000 and orange man probably sees this as a opportunity to beat up china again.

Read the fucking news

Well, that was early.

You guys really gonna abandon this cute little crab?

Attached: 1561659309521.jpg (1024x768, 254K)

All I see is
>China and USA agree to maybe resume trade talks in October

I know we live in a circus simulation, but surely that bullshit isn't enough to break out of the crab zone?

buy dips
protect on rips

How come they are cheaper than that to buy right now though?

What that picture means is some rascal exercised his call options and stole all my shares away.

China said that they are happy with the talks they had with the US yesterday and are ready for some progression in the new round of trade talks.
Doesn't mean we will get anywhere this time around either, but traders don't care. Pump it then dump it if talks goes bad, easy money.

WE GREEN NAO BOIS HOTDAYUM

GREENER AND GREENER IDS CONFIRM GOLDEN BULL RUN

The backstory here is that I wrote these calls BEFORE earnings, meaning that the premiums were a fraction of what I could have gotten if I had waited until after earnings. I really cucked myself out of potential gains. I'm not too resentful in this case because I still made good money on LCI, and I decided what I did made sense at the time. That said, I'm glad someone decided to exercise the options early because being forced to hold those shares was just a reminder of the money I could have made had I done things differently.

Should I sell my gold stocks? I'm at a profit right now and I fear that if there's a resolution with China that my portfolio will take a dip

I have about $3,000 freed up from LCI. What should I buy now? (NOT more LCI). ODP? KHC?

CVS gonna go pop today

We're closing red today.

NIO is starting its climb back now that tariffs are out of the news

My average is bout 3 fiddy.

2.65

Why Macy's over other department stores?

depends on how much you got on the rest of your portfolio, I guess. I have a smol percentage in gold stocks so as to hedge if the market goes down without investing directly in the commodity (I rather have physical).

Attached: 1528318676666.gif (498x280, 3.31M)

Divvies are 10% due to reduced share price from China tariffs. Once that goes away its shooting back up, and in the meantime you just collect

They just announced 200m in convertible notes sale to Tencent yesterday, and earnings are coming on Tuesday. Gonna be a fun week

I saw you faggot
I know you waited until 1:30 AM to post that in hopes of not being included in the collage, but nobody can avoid their inevitable fate when they make negative posts about GALT

Attached: loss.png (763x65, 5K)

50% chance LCI will reach 11.45 by end of month. 25% chance it'll reach 12.56 and a 1% chance it'll go to 17.73. For any anons who want to know.

>Watching stocks
>They go up
>Too late
>Refuse to buy
>Another day passes
>They go up
>Refuse to buy
>Repeat for a few days
>Finally buy
>It tanks hard and stays down
>weeks later with MUCH RESISTANCE barely reaches dca price
>refuse to sell
>tanks down and stays down
>reaches 1 penny higher than dca price again with a lot of resistance
>sell
>suddenly resistance is gone and it shoots upwards

How do I reverse this or take advantage?

Attached: Screenshot_20190905-061343.jpg (1375x1045, 347K)

how did you calculate those odds

Buy stocks based on more than price fluctuations.

Nigga i aint gay

Ooooooooooo you wrote covered calls. I see now. Aww man I was betting on LCI staying where it jumped or dropping and not jump again yet to buy back in but was wrong

>suck a dick
>gay
Get over yourself user, a job is a job

thanks for the tip. the price is just low enough for a good return plus dividends

Attached: 1566088954683.gif (540x501, 1.56M)

Do I need to read anything before trading option la on Robinhood or can I just go ahead.

I know what a call and a put is is that enough?

That dividend isn't secure at all lol it will be cut or cancelled by the next quarter.

Real estate if you are feeling a bit gay

Make sure to choose a strike price and expiry date that works in your favor.

F looks like the nicest looking postal trucks out of the lineup for the big contract

And Market is open let’s get these shekels boys!!!! You all were born for this now let’s fill our pockeeeeets

>cut from 10% yield on cost to 9% yield on cost
Wow, terrible! How will that user ever survive?

That would be suicide. This was a fast drop down, many investors holding steady. They cut the divvie then they're gonna lose a lot of investors, and fucking up their stock for who knows how long.

how do I determine strike price? should I use their recommended range or enter my own? not really sure what it means.

>tfw your stocks go down

Attached: tfw.jpg (1280x720, 32K)

fuck I had the GE buy signal at 8.2 and disregarded it because of the GE-worst-than-enron report meme... everyfucking time TA > FA.

Plymouth Rock Tech.

Attached: Gf5q46J2.png (624x167, 18K)

My non real life usage yet study has me believing it depends on how much you want to pay for or receive from the contract as well as picking a strike price that’s a price you’re speculating to be a great price if the stock goes up (for a call) or goes down (for a put)

China say they are determined to oppose further escalation of the trade war, say the topic that should be discussed shall be removing the newly enforced tariff to stop the further escalation. But then I don't think Trump will let this happen?

It's 1-(O-H)/O for each row, from 10 yrs of monthly historical on LCI. Then I used the large function on the resulting set of values (120). It's this '=large(h1:h122, 61)' which gives me the value that's the 61st largest out of 120 (50%). I multiplied this value by what LCI opened at this month and did the same for the others with 61 becoming 30 and 1. Resulting in my values. Course it could also go below these values, I haven't calculated that yet.

3 stocks Ive wanted buy now for over a month where i just didnt or was penny pinching and theyre up between 5% to 15% ahhhhhhhhhh

This is China saying the US has them by the balls and they just want it to end at this point. The Chinese food president realizes nownhe cant wait out our president because their economy can’t make it even another month like this. Not sure what trump will do he could end china once and for all at this point

>what are capital gains taxes
>4 days every year
nigger I get paid every month

Attached: stokess-fb.jpg (400x440, 36K)

Some of my stocks are red, how long should i wait before buying this dip, hopefully just a dip.

Why do I keep buying high anyways sometimes im not even doing it on purpose it jusr happens to land on the day before it tanks. And when i get thr vibe ro buy but dont cause im penny penching it sky rockets nearly 10% in 2 days.

We are finally back at my PSA short level. Could have shorted 2.5% higher but oh well, time to ride that fucker down. Maybe it was the top for ROKU too... i may reshort here

Huh your id is different. Lol i suspected you were the same guy talking about lci using different ids. Have noticed too many ids that talk about it in a similiar style.

OLLI, the time has come and so have I.

Attached: 1430157364419.jpg (1920x1080, 187K)

You should determine your own strike price. Robinhood has been fucking me over with poor price tracking.

Popped my options cherry. That was interesting. Learned a few things. Want to learn more.

1 month of a stock i wanted going up. Finally buy it yesterday. Tanks 0.17. What am i doing wrong!!!!!!!! It even has a good dividend coming up next week.

Looking to cash in OLLI at 59.50 to avoid the possible bounce at 60.

Waiting for WKHS news to decide whether im taking short term profits or willing to hold a new months for more.

Looks like GME has bottomed. I bought some yesterday below 4 to help Michael.

Stocks with a dividend artificially go down by dividend value right before it cashes them to keep dirty dividend flippers like you at bay.

Attached: 1395976846625.png (390x390, 151K)

shorts must be grabbing their shares through options

You figured it out. I'm the only one who's been posting about LCI... All those "Anonymous" posters, LCIguy... just different personas I don to deceive the masses. Why did I do it, you ask? I had some heavy bags. Got in when the stock was about $13, see. I needed some rubes to hold the bags for me, see. You figured out my plan, but it's too late. You see, I've already won, see. You suckers pumped up the price to $11. Now I've already gotten away. Maybe you'll catch me yet, but it won't be this time.

I think everyone is waiting on that news and that's why the volume is so low

>UPRO limit too low, never triggered
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

What's the hot money maker today gents?
Made $1,000 this week on ATVI, what's next?

Is it possible an institutional investor eats through this $50000000 buy wall? I have some MSFT options but I’m thinking of selling them right before it hits the resistance.

Attached: 8C4B4E4B-AFE9-49CE-9A4D-7CBDF3E9AF29.jpg (1125x1308, 561K)

If the need to cut the dividend, there's no guaruntee they don't cut it by much more than that or axe it entirely. I'll check it out though. Thanks for the suggestion.

We're in the same boat, fren

I'm a wagie having just graduating from school this past spring. Have made about $800 from my initial investment of $3700 5 years ago while still in school. Working to pay off my debts now and don't really have the time or energy (cba) to research stocks. Been thinking of just using a robo-advisor instead. Thoughts?
