Why do you stiill talk to your parents

I really wish I didnt have to talk to them.
I only talk to my dad because I feel bad after a few months of not calling him. He calls and texts me often to ask to see me but I always bail.
My mom moved out of state and we talk once to twice a month for about 15 minutes which is more than enough.

Dad was just a shit father who had his life ruined by my cunt stepmother. I told him 12 years ago she was cheating on him, he didnt believe me and spent my entire life taking her side in every situation we ever got in to, when I moved out we didnt talk for years. When she falsified DV charges and got him arrested and he lost his job, house and all his money, his car and had every friend turn against him, he finally realized I'm the only person he has left in his entire world, but the bridge has long since been destroyed and it's too little too late.
He spent his entire life making mid six figures, owning many fancy things including houses and cars.
He is now 65 years old and lives in a 8x10 room in a shared house with 8 other people in an OK but not great area.

I want to feel bad for him but cant bring myself to look past his many poor decisions

Because I'm not an angsty cringelord who thinks my parents aren't literally the only people in the world who actually give a shit about me.

I honestly feel really bad for you if your parents didnt love you enough to stick around or make it known that they want you to stick around. You shouldn't spend time with your father because of pity.. you should spend time with your parents because you like them, which is a super easy thing to do, because they are basically your own personal cheerleaders.

If you don't like spending time with your parents, then i would suggest to you that you should be better at taking control of the conversation, talk about things you want to talk about e.g. Jow Forums related topics or whatever you are interested in.

They give me free stuff. They are selling a rental property I think they are going to give me part of the money.

They aren't that bad but I feel bitter and no connection to them. They are stereotypical immigrant parents who were casually abusive and neglectful, yet also overbearing. It was like after the first kid they stopped caring (I'm the youngest). I never got birthday or christmas presents or anything, while my older siblings did before I was born, they didn't let me have friends or do anything like play outside. They didn't discipline me, instead I'd just get random beatings where they don't bother explaining what I did wrong. They expect me to listen to them even though they are uneducated and unworldly, my mom is literally illiterate. I was raised by television and video games, I can barely communicate with them because they barely speak english and I barely speak their native language.

These days I mostly avoid them becuae my dad always wants money, and my mom is screaming narcissistic harpy that always has something negative to say.
