the ship is accelerating
EDGE
Captain edge here, all nodes on full-speed, activate stargate-power if necessary. To the edge of the universe and beyond.
Edgelet reporting in. Will I make it with my 20k edge stack ?
I'd say go for at least for 50k for a making it stack. and you do have a node already, right ?
50k+ makes you almost a top100 holder
good. you want to make it before you are 60, right ?
yep, onboarded a node yesterday. I'm accumulating slowly, but got enough for now.
Can you set up multiple nodes in a home if you don't enough edge for a gateway?
multiple nodes will be allowed next week or so. Setting them all in one location only makes sense if you have a very fast internet connection, because they are competing against each other for jobs.
How much bandwith do the use? I'd like to be able to still play vidya and binge neetflix while staking.
Mine used 80Gb over the last two weeks. So not too bad if you have a decently fast connection. Afaik this will also be configurable in next versions.
around same 50gb, in 10 days or 5gb per day. Shouldn't affect your neetflix and chill.
link me some info on returns from staking.
ty
It totally depends on the network traffic and number of competing nodes in your area. That being said, the average monthly payout has been 20$ per node for the last 4 months. Thats a 100% ROI annually for current stake prices. Pic related is from my founding node.
Thx for the info. Damn seems the ship is departing already. Should I get a stake now or wait for it to cool down?
Sign up for google cloud and get that sweet $400 credit.
I'm using a debian virtual machine hosted on the cloud and it's free for the entire year. Couldn't be comfier.
I will be running another node on a raspberri pi on my home network eventually as well.
cool, thx for the info user, looks like I will set up my next node in google cloud! Also looking into setting up the software on some PCs in my uni and hoping no one will find out hehehe
up to you. 5M marketcap is still insanely cheap for what edge already has achieved, not even counting whats on the horizon - edge storage, self-serve dns and cdn, general purpose compute vm, gpu monetization, mobile apps, etc. not even to mention the 6M revenue in the pipeline.
Thanks frens. Edge threads really are the comfiest on Jow Forums
Lol buy link anons are yyou retarded or wat?
Based
>shills distributed cloud hosting project
>just host it on google cloud bro!
the absolute state
Just got my $50 of free shittokens from cuckbase so I'll buy some edge.
If someone uses this link and answers, I'll buy more.

> a few nodes are hosted on AWS/GCP
> oh nooo its not decentralized anymore
Absolute brainlet
Also the point is to use up some free credits on GCP, obviously this is not profitable once they are used up. Except if you are renting the instances anyway and are just using the spare capacity
how would you install it on a uni PC though, you need admin permissions normally, right ?
> he thinks the decentralized internet will exclusively be hosted on raspberry Pis in the basement of NEETs
user, I ...
>thinks people will pay a premium to be on a "decentralized network"
>decentralized network is actually a bunch of NEETs acting as middlemen for AWS/GCP
>thinks anyone will pay middlemen for less reliable service that use reliable networks' infrastructure
it's all so tiresome
its actually cheaper than AWS/GCP (up to 10x): edge.network
The network already consists of over 260 nodes, most hosted at home. You seem to not understand that is talking about using FREE credits from cloud providers to host, obviously its not profitable to run a host on the cloud once you pay for it.
There are already plenty of websites using it, and over 6M revenue still in the pipeline.
Try to get your facts right before embarrassing yourself so badly.
>thinks anyone will pay middlemen for less reliable service that use reliable networks' infrastructure
Too bad then that Edge provides 100% uptime while every other hosting company only can ensure 97% to 99%. If you think 1% difference is not much, let me remind you that is four days worth of downtime in a year.
I'm edging sooooo hard!!!
It's crazy that the returns are coming from actual usage of the network rather than random, bullshit inflation.
WE ARE GUNNA BE RICH ANONS.
positive feedback loop on steroids
How difficult is it to setup a node? I have enough EDGE, but no Raspberry Pi 4. They're like $50 so from the sounds of it I'd get back the initial investment within three months.
What do you use to measure data? I have a pretty good router but it only measures total data usage so it's hard to pinpoint what my pi 4 host is processing; the IPTV I use uses a ton as it is. I guess there is probably a linux program that can log by interface?
Just onboarded my pi 4 a few days ago and accumulating tokens to do a second when it is allowed. Feeling really good about this project.
Not at all difficult. Some guy on the telegram made a pretty detailed tutorial today for complete linux noobs for the raspberry pi medium.com
Can I host pedophilia on it?
you can try, but they comply with international law. This is not a new darknet. Its a decentralized internet that takes advantage of the efficiencies (latency, bandwidth, price) of hosting closer to the requestor than centralized networks
bump for anons to not miss the boat
so it it not permissionless?
>tripple digits daily volume.
Because the price would rocket into oblivion if someone bought $10000 worth of it right now. You can only buy slowly.
