>buy call
Vs
>sell call

Which is generally better?

Selling is generally less risk but you need to have money to do it.

Go read a fucking book.

Selling a call if you don't own the underlying stock is making a bet that it will not reach that price, because if it does, you are on the line for those shares

I buy calls and sell when the underlying goes up, because I can only ever lose the amount I put into the calls and it's generally easier for me to spot an uptrend than a top of a run

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh my bags are heavy but i dont want to sell!!!

Too risky to make short term sell call to make funds back or should i just hold these bags?

Good points. Its robinhood so I need to have it covered.

I understand you can flip an option without it exercising but I’m confused about exercising options... So let’s say I bought to open a call. What happens when my long call expires? Does it exercise, buying the 100 shares and giving me the profits from the difference of the strike price or do I have to buy the 100 shares and do what I want with them?

What I would suggest is finding those big name stocks like V, DIS, PLNT that are having heavy dips and then buying calls a month out. It's pretty safe, and remember when you hit about 30% profit really think about pulling out instead of trying to hold on for that 200%. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

A

C

B

Ror! No. If your call expires, that's it. Its doneso. It no longer exists.

Attached: 120e0b35262bf11eb5581a0f8908d1f2.jpg (480x690, 46K)

You need to exercise the option in order to buy the underlying stock, if you don't exercise the option the money you spent on buying it goes to waste because the option expires

Not necessarily the BB but like when PEP dropped below 100 that was a buy it Nya moment. Only for that kind of stuff. 3M below 160 is the same

yield touched 3rd time "resistance(support)" and goin' up again dragging market up with it as correlation is very high in current monetary system. contrary what trump and such wants and believes.

there are now only bad candidates for u.s. president run nobody is stupid enough to want to become a president it seems. warren is horrible with wealth tax and such, trump is better but he still gets many things totally wrong like rates and tariffs. tariffs mostly people see as a scape goat they think china is the reason usa is struggling economically, but china's exports are less than 3% of their gdp is pennies so tariffs are mostly just bogus talk and people should focus on real things

wth happened here fren?

SORRY SUNKUN
I sold my GEO today at my breakeven of $18.50
I only made 1 quarter worth of divvy off the trade.

I'm looking for a reentry or a chance to lower my basis again in NRZ. I still believe, but I have TOO MANY positions (20-30).

Gotcha gotcha thx
>PEP below 100
Not this year, but it got close

Oh god PEP... I'm worse than the general RH trader!
>Your Average Cost - $124.10
> Average Price Paid - $109.51

>or less
Fucking jews

ROKU IS MAKING MY FUCKING PORTFOLIO GO TO 0!!!!

>once a call expires it ghosts
Ok thanks fren. Now I’m still confused on how exercising the option works though. Say the call is still alive and has a couple weeks left till it expires. How do I exercise the option if it looks good to do so? Do I ever have to buy the 100 shares and it’ll just give me the profits from doing all that by itself or do I have to buy them myself at the strike price to exercise a long call?

Opinions? Good buy or not considering it pumped by 100% in about a months time.

ACB finnish

TWLO
52-week high - $151.00
Current Price - $110.50

Fuck it, I'm backing up the truck!

You call up your broker, and be like "Hey Dino! I wanna execute those calls. Yeah there's cash in the account for it. Thanks!" Click

top notch risk management

Feels good to see my KHC P/L actually in the green. We're gonna make it, KHCfrens.

Attached: bagholders_no_more.png (528x321, 157K)

Oh ok thank you fren. So just to make sure I’m understanding this. Throw out flipping the option and selling it to someone else, I understand that. So let’s say that’s not able to be done. Just focusing on exercising only, I need to have the money to buy 100 shares when I buy to open a call at the strike price available or I’m retarded for even longing a call because I can’t do anything with a long call option without being able to buy the 100 shares to exercise it?

LCl just hit a 52 week high

Now it gets big boy attention. We will ride high tomorrow for sure

It's still higher than it was yesterday

just keep buying the dip fren, its free monies

Attached: 09080213492039.jpg (2880x1920, 832K)

If you don't want to flip the option you need to have the money necessary to buy 100 shares of the stock, if you don't then there is nothing you can do and the option expires worthless

I just sold a chunk of my ACB calls and now have $400 sitting in my jerkoff account, but no fucking conviction and no idea where to go with this for the first time ever. What's going to moon? What options can I throw this all away on?

ACB swiss

V, PLNT, or WM calls a month out

If you want a shot at 10x the money buy some of the shitty small caps that have been BTFO

Throw it in ZS or ZS calls

HYG calls are indeed cheap. Suspiciously so.

short ACB of course

Or play the KR earnings tonight

I’m in the same boat, waiting for spy to get close to 300 again. If the S&P touches 3k again I’m going all in with every single cent of my net worth on puts.

I broke my virginity on options longing calls and don’t have the money to exercise the calls with all the contracts I bought. I really appreciate you explaining everything to me as reading on it wasn’t helping me understand. I needed someone to answer my thought process. Now I know I need to sell my options and hopefully someone will buy them or can flip them for a premium or I’m rekddddt

Fucking retard we are consolidating for the massive breakout

URGE TO GAMBLE
RISING

Attached: Screenshot_20190911-140358.png (1440x2880, 169K)

I would, but I also kept a couple of ACB calls as a lotto ticket so I'd just be washing that shit out.

>i'm going to short the breakout of 18 months of consolidation
smart

jesus LCI shorts keep getting closed one after another

Thanks baggie! I understand now. Some of these write ups are confusing to understand when I’m trying to learn all this. A nice simple answer like you gave me is nice and clear

When are the new rates decided?
Should a cut to 0 or negative give a short term stock boost

MSFT in the green today. Check em.

>LCIguy was right
You've redeemed yourself, you're still a faggot for B5G though.

SHORT LCI ITS CRASHING

CLDR STUFFIN

>you're still a faggot for B5G though.
wtf are you talking about, wrong person

Lci keep going up!

Fucking CNBC been hating on Juul since forever... saying Melania is "very sensitive" to the issue of vaping because Baron is in middleschool.

Do you REALLY think she has Don's ear? Really?

I'd imagine we're going to keep rotating to small caps and value stocks, the ones that have been missing out this entire rally, before new money flows in and pumps up to the ATH's. So... we crabbing for at least a little while longer

Did you just make this? This is a very attractive graph, and I don't even trust memelines...

You're this fucking new?
You're the god of nothing.

They need to teach kids to smoke good ol fashioned cigarettes not this soi vaping shit

>Did you just make this?
It's from FINVIZ

Yeah, np fren, options are good if you know how to use them, dont be afraid to learn with cheap options (dont bet more than 100 dollars on your learning experiences)

>You're this fucking new?
>You're the god of nothing.
still dont know what you're talking about

wrong (You)

my SFM calls....they stir.....

LCI guy has had like 5 trips and also fucks trannies

All this time I thought LCI to midteens™ was a meme.

Get in line. 82% of the float is/was shorted.

Reminder, rate cut or not,we're crashing after the 3000 party.

Ror! We've all learned something.
Jokes aside, it's pretty obvious to see this coming for a few months now. Why normies no listen? Because they're normies.

>WeWork's stock market debut - one of the most hotly anticipated financial events of the year - is in doubt.
>SoftBank, the Japanese investment firm that owns about 30% of WeWork, has reportedly urged the property company to drop its flotation plans.
>The pressure follows signs that outside investors do not value the much-hyped firm as highly as SoftBank did when it invested last year.

Fuck, I was throbbing at the thought of shorting this piece of shit

Keep holding on bro SFM $20 by the end of the week

Attached: 1520022010104.png (839x526, 25K)

daily reminder that stocks are incredibly cheap desu

use a discounted cash flow method, your required rate of return is lowered because of super low fed interest rates (stocks can perform worse to beat bonds by the same amount) and therefore jacks down the fair value of many stocks

Lmoa

I made like 40% on BGFV this month already
I called that it was a good buy in the threads 2-3 weeks ago around $2

LCIboy didn't have anything to say about it hehe
if you want some brutal honesty, it's this: he's not actually a true finder of proper value and buy/sell timings, he's a broken clock. If you meme about high volatility stocks for years on end, they will have times when they move up significantly. just statistics really.

Attached: DSC01419_CoonCub.jpg (1939x1475, 1.78M)

What calls should i buy?
I've been hearing:
MSFT
SFM
AVGO

>BGFV
i dont know what this shit is but its bottoming it seems

oops, i meant jacks UP the fair value of many stocks, kinda confusing desu

I wanna smoke Juul and eat tide pods with Baron Trump
seems like he'd have some trippy stuff to talk about for a young lad

> jacks down the fair value of many stocks
if their value goes down (for the same price) they aren't cheap, they're expensive
I think u said that part wrong
I do agree with buying stocks for yield instead of bonds, I've been very clear and insistent about this point all year long. so I agree with your post, but specifically buying stable yield generators (stocks and funds and other instruments), with some growth mixed in but not prioritized.

Ror! As if you know anything about the LCI short squeeze thesis. Also
>implying LCI was not a value investment
Mmmk. So he was correct on this one, and now you feel the need to steal his thunder? Ror!

If you sell a covered put and also a covered call cause you have a neutralish position.
What strategy is this called?

i didnt care about pharma stocks before posting here.. now im paying attention when they are oversold i'll keep this one on my watch list

A convoluted way of breaking even

You just sell on the far outliers. Free premiums

I have faith sproutfren.

Oh shit! KYS!

Not if its volatile enough

Would you unironically hold (not put) but hold a stock that hasn't turned a profit in 5 years?

Attached: CRAWWLING IN MY SKIIIIN.png (799x394, 26K)

Where are my Nana Abe rare maid photos.
Im getting impatient

LCI to $60

you don't even break even because the spreads eat your money
also to have covered call and put you have to have equal short position which you pay maintenance on, so your EV is negative just from that before the options even happen.

after that, it depends what the strike prices for the options you sell are
possible to profit, but stupid

Yaay, a commercial real estate middle man! What a great business model.
