To further comment on my explanation, here is an example : An alpha lion male and an alpha lion female mated and they have baby lions. If a new alpha lion male come in and is able to beat the current alpha male to become the alpha male of the tribe, he will proceed to kill the babies of the previous alpha male, which are the alpha female babies too. How does the alpha female react to this? She gets turned on and proceed to mate with the new alpha male.
You might say : NOOOO BUT THOSE ARE LIONS NOT HUMANS!!! (insert mad basedwojak.png) But lions are not that far off us biologically and you can see this type of behavior for humans too : There is one single thing that heavily correlates with child abuse and it is having a step father.
