You seem like a fag.

My bad I shoulda included that in the OP.

Why is it we spend half of our waking hours working and yet nobody ever talks about it? We have endless buyfag threads and a fuckton of discussion about the things we buy, as consumers, but never what we do as workers.

And a links section, don't worry we only need one

Thats dumb

As for my take is that respect is earned, and most modern companies do nothing to earn it. People fought and died to earn the rights we have as workers. They don't teach you that in school, but the greatest battle on US soil after the Civil War was the Battle of Blair Mountain, were workers armed with rifles fought company thugs armed with machine guns and bomber aircraft for the right to working conditions fit for human beings.

If I just casually toss aside these liberties that have been paid for in blood, what am I saying to them? What am I saying to all the other workers who will have less ability to resist because I serve to normalize that behavior? What I may do willingly now will in time become imposed upon all.

For the right compensation, some rights can be momentarily waived, because the monetary cost discourages the employer from relying on it. But I think you cannot owe a sense of loyalty to a corporation. It is a business transaction, and you should not countenance being cheated. Any "bridges" built off of exploiting you deserve to be burned, and if the employer thinks that shows you're not a "team player", then it's not a team worth playing for.

Sup cranenigger, how much do you guys make (I assume you're in the longshoreman mafia)? I was considering spending money for rigging and nccco "school" like a faggot...but everyone on Jow Forums said accreditation is a meme, magically get a job as a spotter and have them train/cert you.

Keep in mind I'm early 30's lazy CDL, and all the LinkedIn crane operator jobs are like midlow teens an hour in shithole rural areas. Don't really have 5 years of donothing entry bitchwork left in me for a "shot" at advancement.

I know you said they're automating ports, and steel recycling/other smaller stationary lifts pay less than regular warehouse work. Construction/mobile retards are claiming 200k a year or some dumb shit, which is a lie and makes me not want to deal with dumb boomer exaggerating cucks that can't do the work or have the connections when push comes to shove (too many in o/o cdl land as is).

What do?
