Scale is only 1 factor. Amazon will beat you wholesale, that’s not where you compete. Make a good product, start by selling local. Use the local angle to try to get people to buy your product for a higher price, and if they like it they will keep buying.

Do you think Amazon started out with the lowest prices? It was a bookstore turned everything store. Improvise, adapt, overcome, applies to most things in life, follow it and you will succeed.
