Premium is entirely dependent on the company, I've bought and made money off of options worth 20c at buy in and a dollar fifty at buy in, it all depends. I just look for companies with a solid uptrend or companies who had an overreacting drop w/ a clear bottom. Usually I cut loss at 20% and take profit at 30-35%

I cannot understand what you're trying to convey, options contracts go up in value when the people trading them believe they will pass or meet the strike price by the given date, if it's not moving it's because the people who would be buying your contracts don't think they'll be worth anything by the strike date, if you want a more noticeable fluctuation on small price action of the underlying then buy options more in the money
