>working marketing job >getting great feedback from clients >directors praise my good feedback >generally doing well >hate the job >try to leave >"user you could be on X money in two years you know, how can we make you happy?" >tell them they cant and I'm jobseeking regardless >they are understanding >time passes, keep doing well >pass probation despite job hunt and told of salary increase >request time off next week for interview, approved >"good luck user :)" >just closed a big sale yesterday >plan of action all in place for next week's jobs >my day off today (unrelated to interview) >get a call >"user we're letting you go, your performance has been low over the past few days and your attitude unacceptable"
You should only do this after you have an offer somewhere else man, come on. I thought you'd know marketing wtf was that? Just look for interviews and take the week off without telling them man what
Dominic Stewart
>Telling company you're leaving your job before you have a backup job Fucking brainlet
Oliver Mitchell
I wasn't able to take time off because it would be super obvious what I was doing anyway taking random days at short notice, and deadlines mean it's hard to get time off.
John Richardson
Then wait til deadlines are passed or say its an emergency and you need the time off, smfh. Good luck on your job search st least, but dont go through your directors for references obviously. Hopefully some coworkers would vouch for you?
Daniel Reyes
This. A thousand times this. absolute braincuck. you don't tell your company you are job hunting, like never! your honesty is nobel but stupid as fuck
Noah Cook
Your first mistake was telling your boss you wanted to leave BEFORE having the offer. The second mistake was expecting anything but pettiness from other human beings.
Deadlines don't pass it's a continous conveyor belt of work as we bill work for clients, if we don't have deadlines were sat around doing nothing and costing the business money for doing no work.
I guess I dun goofed.
Levi Jenkins
You shouldn't tell them you are job hunting LOL. Only tell once you have a written offer.
Xavier Scott
What is the problem here, snowflake?
Michael Powell
Now I have to go to interviews and say I was fired.
>Telling your employer you are actively seeking other work as more than just a bargaining move
You are a brainlet
Samuel Phillips
People in marketing are the fakest losers going. They'll of course say you're doing great to your face whilst messaging everyone they know to not work with you again.
Colton Rivera
Brainlet.
Brody Cruz
I would do the exact same thing to you desu. You told them you were not worth investing in so they got themselves somebody else to bet their chips on. They only kept you around until they found a suitable replacement and let you go on your day off so as not to cause a scene (bitch move here, I always do it in person unless the person is "too busy"/clearly dodging the meeting).
You did the same thing to them, only you didn't even wait until you had a replacement employer to tell them you would. Wrong move.
Jordan Reyes
They were fine keeping you on despite knowing you were job hunting because they weren't spending too much on you. Once you got your raise you became a liability because your replacement would be cheaper, so they were finally financially motivated to get rid of you. They were just waiting for you to close some sales so your dismissal doesn't disrupt their revenue.
Leo Thompson
File for unemployment now
Mason White
Losing a 60K potential job because you need to find yourself millennial style so you can go headfirst into a global recession and possibly wagey cagey at McDonalds nice move dork
Benjamin Ross
Lmao ur dumb
Jack Perez
Do people this stupid actually exist?
Or is OP just trolling for attention?
Jayden Phillips
>He didn't push for the salary boost
???
Austin Hall
He didn't have an offer to show his old employer. They would've just told him to fuck off
Jordan Evans
What should I have done?
Owen Rodriguez
You just call in sick and if they get suspicious you just stick to the story until you find another place. If they fire you this way it's going to be much slower than just being a chump and telling them what is going on.
There is no benevolent employer. They don't you favors, so why would you do them one?
James Lopez
Sick?
Jackson Reyes
Bro why would you tell them you were looking for another job, what did you expect? Did you think they were just going to wait for you to find another job?
Jaxon Cook
>Did you think they were just going to wait for you to find another job? That's what they said.
Xavier Hughes
Tell them your anal fissures are acting up
Camden Robinson
>sick >question mark
Jackson Morales
This. Jesus fucking Christ what are you doing faggot. You think these people have your best interests at heart?
