I mean, I’m 28 and I work as a restoration technician. It’s backbreaking work. I thought about going into coding because every career projection forecast I’ve seen puts coding/programming at the top of the list. But I make too much to qualify for any sort of grant and way too little to pay for the whole fucking course up front.
Is coding just a meme? And with financial opportunities available to everyone who ISN’T a white man available at many schools, would I be wasting my time getting into it?

The stuff painting coding as a grand opportunity is propaganda. The field has been saturated because of insourcing and outsourcing of 3rd-worlders for years.
