Memes aside, most areas are fine. Only the major cities would be off-putting, but I wouldn't recommend visiting them anyway since they're too international to be of any value to a tourist. Sydney is maybe worth visiting if you're going for the typical tourist experience, though. But be prepared, because if you're going to spend most of your time outside of major cities, you have to be into outdoorsy activities since that's really where our country shines.
