GPAs are massively inflated these days. The average to get into a top 50 school is above a 4.0, maybe around a 4.3 GPA. At least thats what I've heard after going through the community college transfer process and seeing people go through the high school process complain. If you have under a 4.0 you're not getting into competitive schools by definition.
