The recession in 2007 made life hard for a great deal of people. My family slipped into extreme poverty after the rubbermaid plant laid off my dad in 2008. It caused my parents to split up. I haven't felt happiness since then.

He ended up finding another job after 6 months but it was across the US and my parents ended up getting divorced.
