Labor is infinite and supply, and costs NOTHING to maintain. It is self-sustaining.

If they sell their product domestically, they're just shuffling money within their own borders. There is little growth or acclimation of wealth there.

By trading OUTSIDE, they are spending a small amount of money to purchase raw materials, and using cheap or free labor to convert the materials to expensive goods to get other countries to shift their wealth TO THEM.

Selling product to other countries is always more profitable.
