What is your opinion on affirmative action in America? Does it discriminate against whites?

Has there ever been a case where poorly skilled/educated non-whites were favored over better skilled/educated whites? Is it the norm, or the exception?

I've seen how this works.
Take 10 spots in the engineering school. Fill them with negroes.
Give negroes free tutors
Give negroes their own study rooms (tough to find on campus.
Make them "flunk out proof". Literally, cannot be flunked out like white guys.
Watch HP come to campus and say "We don't want to bother hiring anyone but your affirmative action hires".
Watch Negroes fail, and HP go down in flames.
Laugh.

It’s explicity antiwhite. There were almost no mestizos when the US conquered the southwest and they were then excluded from that territory. Yet somehow hispanics are the recipient of aa without having any historical wrongs to justify it.

Technically it does discriminate against whitey. As there are hundreds of programs out there to help anyone BUT white males get ahead.
Now, with that said, it's also DETRIMENTAL to the people it's supposed to help.
And here's why: Even without affirmative action, whitey still gets ahead? Why is that? Typically, it's hard work, determination, and taking advantage of opportunities when they present themselves.
In the case of affirmative action recipients. They don't have to work hard. They don't need determination to get ahead. They never have to look out for opportunities. They're just given shit.

Another analogy is "don't feed the animals they'll become dependent and won't be able to survive on their own anymore" argument.
Because in short, affirmative action makes it so these people never develop the skills/mindset required to get ahead. So they still end up failing in the end.

To take this one step further though! As a whole, our society would be better without it.
As more qualified people would be taking our limited spaces in universities/the workforce.

Equivalence of outcomes instead of equivalence of opportunity. Makes it so you're at a disadvantage if you've got the same grades as someone who's a desired skin color.

Not just against whites. It discriminates against every group except for the most underrepresented group. It is literally reverse discrimination.
Whites are actually in the middle, the groups who get hit the hardest are Asians and Jews, because having higher IQ/stressing Education (take your pick) they are over represented in the college population relative to their percent the total US population.
Niggers and Spics benefit because there are fewer of them in college than their relative percentage in the population: they get the extra considerations.
Whites are middle to slightly over represented. Nothing really changes.

It's one of the only clearly identifiable examples of 'institutional' racism. There is nothing even remotely similar for whites.

AA supporter arguments boil down to this:
1) Blacks are essentially stupid and need this to compete.
2) blah blah blah I am an anti-white racist and here are my justifications: (fill in the blank).

There is also the effect of them maybe not feeling accomplished because they know they got a diversity hire or w/e. Also it doesn't encourage achievement anyway, because instead of competing against all others in the market, they only compete against other minorities.

The whole point is to discriminate against whites, retard. Many positions and scholarships are "diversity based" (ie. no white men). This is particularly the case in STEM and most blatant in the universities.

While I support the goals of these kind of programs, I think they tend to be clumsily carried out. Also, on principle I disagree with government "social engineering" partially because it is a case of government overreach but mainly because people in government are retarded. It is really a tough issue for the US because a meritocracy is a very important ideal for our country, and these programs directly contradict that spirit.

When i was in school, a black teacher illustrated affirmative action for us.
he took a white student and placed her in front of the class facing in a direction, then he took a black student and placed her behind the white student facing the same direction.
then he told black student to take a step forward next to white student.
this is what he claimed affirmative action did for blacks.

i for one thought the illustration, and by extension affirmation action, was bullshit.

I've always felt affirmative action should be income based above anything else, so for example for university placements, give poorer students a better chance since they will have less opportunities available to them derived from the wealth of their family. This would probably fall down racial lines a lot, but it also help prioritise, say, a poor white student over a rich black one.

Your not gonna find specific examples but if you look at the average gpa and SAT scores for blacks and hispanics getting into a college they will always be lower then whites and asian scores.They are making it less of a requirement for blacks and hispanics to get into college then whites and asians

Yes, I did find about that. Why do you think that's being done? If whites get discriminated against because they were oppressors, and blacks get favored because they were oppressed, why do they affect Asians as well?

Asians are smart and are the highest earners in the US so thats why its the hardest to get in. Your not going to find specific examples because its impossible to prove on an individual level. If you call a college out on this shit the college could just give some bs reason why you where not choson

depends if the college asks if your jewish or not when they ask you about your ethnicity expecially since jews represent only 1% of the population.
