Nellis is the big training base. Fighter pilots training and operating at the edge of available performance sometimes fuck up. Training losses are unfortunate but not completely unavoidable without making the training useless.

More than likely, Groom Lake sent up the B-21, the F-16's were sent from Nellis to try to lock the B-21 with their radar. The F-16 probably crashed coming back after the training and testing op.
You can speculate as to why the pilot was running his F-16 so hard that it shit the bed today, and what that says about the B-21.

You don't run a radar so hard it makes your jet shit the bed... do you know anything about how fighters actually work? It's not like the F-16 was dogfighting a bomber.

What's actually likely is that it was at the end of a normal weapons school sortie, F-16 maybe had an engine issue, tried to perform an engine-out approach, but didn't have the energy to get the aircraft safely back.

They do shit where they'll send a stealth plane from one base to another and land at Area 51. A51 is a meme so that the military can be sure they have lots of 'civi' eyes on the airspace and then monitor the response, if people saw it, can they describe it etc, as a way of testing human reaction, such as what our enemies might do on even less watched airspace.
My supposition is that the B-21 was sent from Edwards to A51 today, and the F-16 was sent up to 'intercept' it, and the pilot goosed the F-16 in trying.

Trying to find a B-21 on radar is a pretty low threat sortie desu... you leave the radar sweeping and you either see it or you don't. You don't "run it hard" at all, just flying mostly straight and level with possibly some GCI vectors here and there. An average weapons school sortie is much much higher threat.
