The pill mills started this. They gave out percocets and other prescription opiates like fucking candy from the late 90's until 2012 or so. This got a massive percentage of the population hooked on opiods, and then they cut them off from their legal supply, almost overnight. These people aren't just going to stop, so they turned to illegal means. Boom, heroin use explodes. The dealers - always quick to make a buck, then decide they can cut the dope with much stronger fentanyl to save money, and this leads to the situation we're currently in. Shit is absolutely fucked friendo.

Paramedicfag here. Nothing will be done until they break up Medicaid spending. The way drugs are making it to the streets is Medicaid patients are complaining of chronic pain and get sent to pain clinics. I go to these guys houses all the time and see them with their pain pills broke up into different baggies for delivery. Of course they are screaming in pain and saying what they took isn't working hoping the ER will prescribe some dilaudid. It is literally so bad you will go into ERs and see notes saying they will not prescribe pain meds for chronic pain.

The problem is when you actually try to stop them from getting pills the media jumps in and parades these pill heads around saying how heartless it is to keep them from their meds. Law makers fold from public outcry and more pills pour into the streets.

The dopeheads themselves are a different story, they like to find people that have just been hurt and buddy up to them to steal their meds. I picked up one girl who hid her pills in her pussy. They called her in as an overdose trying to figure out where she hid the pills so they could take them.

So really society needs to harden up and let people suffer to stop the epidemic. Because all the law makers are doing is making it harder for regular law abiding folks to get pain relief while the dopeheads are still partying.

I drank pretty much everyday for a few years straight. Stopped cold turkey and outside of having insomnia and sweating hard I was fine. It all lasted a few days and then I was good. I think I just got lucky though. Ive heard quitting heroin and pills on the other hand is one of the toughest things you can do.

Used to drink myself into a stupor from 3.00 AM to 7.00 PM sometimes. People didn't know but looking back it was hell. You are doing great, if you feel tempted have a good Coffee or Tea.
