I miss playing some games, as I'm bored watching tv, movies etc.
But video games are a huge waste of time. I guess I can understand games where it's action and fun from the moment you turn it on, but as soon as you have to start grinding, crafting and shit that isn't really fun, then it starts being a problem.
I've tried out the Nintendo consoles, and they are garbage for kids.
PlayStation and Xbox are kinda useful as media stations and it just depends on what u prefer. But I can't stand shooting games on consoles.
Then there is PC. This is where you have to invest to be a gamer. Aka a loser. This is not an option.
What should I do? Should I just skip gaming all together, or what?
I've also been thinking about the mini Super Nintendo. It's cheap, and I'll have some fun with it.

Video games are at most as degenerate as watching TV. You watch TV for the stories, I play games because I'm a participant in the story. Humans need story, it's what gives our lives meaning. Watching too much TV or playing too many games is bad for you, but in moderation they're both fine.

The great thing about the Souls/Bloodborne series is the lore is so dense that it’ll take an extremely long time to uncover all of it. Also, Bloodborne is inspired from Lovecraftian horror if you’re into that.

user, PC is pretty much the way to go, unless there is some exclusive series your dying to play, like Halo, but even now, the long standing console exclusives like Final Fantasy and Ace Combat are working their way over to PC. Would not surprise me to see things like Armored Core make the jump soon.

I think that video games that instill biased ways of thinking into kids are the degenerate forms of the medium. It didn't used to be so political, and when it did it back then it was not to indoctrinate, was legit the escapism we all needed. But then the AAA publishers all rode the left's bandwagon, and it was very apparent with gamergate. It was there and then that it became obvious that the only way left to play without being affected by politics was through Japanese games and western indies.
Today you hear a lot of crazy shit like Anita Sarkeesian working with Electronic Arts and Microsoft's gaming division. Nintendo cultivating a soy gamer base. And people like David Jaffe no longer working with Sony and people like Neil Druckman as the chair of Naughty Dog.
