You should really pay attention. Consumers are the ones who can make a difference if they want to. They make a difference in where they shop and who they give their money to. You seem to forget that capitalism has this little thing called competition and it is something you can use to take money from the rich and become rich yourself. Communism doesn't work because demanding higher wages will only make the situation worse and drive up prices. If workers truly cared about the situation they would quit their jobs and start their own competing business that caters to the customers.

Nothing because despite income inequality growing, average income and quality of life have been steadily rising for a hundred years. People will be too well off to bother with a revolution that could potentially disrupt their own wealth making, they've got to much too lose. For a real revolution to occur a massive amount of people have to be truly desperate for change and have nothing to lose, modern society is too comfy for this to be the case.
