It's oddly the longest drive in the lower 48. It's so flat, so boring and nothing changes for hours and hours, it really feels like the largest state. In Texas you watch the foliage change, and some hills here and there. All the other states have mountains to look at, you go in and out of cities, and many states are small enough for you to drive through in 3 or 4 hours. Nebraska... it just lasts for 7 hours of flatness. It's like I told you to stare at a wall for 7 hours straight, and you absolutely had to do it or you would suffer a car crash.

Nothing against the people of Nebraska... it's just so flat.

I have a friend who lives in Lincoln and I've flown/driven up there on half a dozen occasions to help her move and help out with her aging grandmother. It's a pretty decent little city and the people are nice.

Her neighbor saw me moving furniture last time she moved, proceeded to help me, called a couple of buddies who greatly expedited the process, brought over some beer and then took me out shooting the next day.
