I think the goal here is that they'll first only report accurate information for a year, and grow their law to include both 'verified' and 'unverified' sources. Thus making it the common acceptance that anything that isn't marked verified is a lie until a verified source publishes it. That way if they get caught bullshitting they can just print it and say its verified, if not, they keep sailing.
If you look at Trump's twitter replies, you can see how much the current brainwashing is working. By creating fake news laws, californians will just use a link to one of those sources and count their argument as won.

I'm trying to toss out those redpills where I can, getting in better shape and hitting the range, because shit is getting weird here. Basically we have a couple regions that are incredibly wealthy and control the politics of the entire state because of the vapid and very image conscious populace and the imported Mexicans. California was once a great place to raise a family, but there has been a lot of policies and legislation that allowed and encouraged huge amounts of Mexicans to come in, and it has been a downward spiral ever since. A lot of people here either outright hate America and want to reclaim it as Mexico, or are idiots that follow instructions from the celebrity icons. Meanwhile the state keeps pushing for more and more taxes and fees on both the people and businesses. Everything so expensive here now and the middle class is being destroyed to pay for the Mexicans. Our state economics do not make any sense and are getting ready to implode. We're also expecting more anti-gun laws to start coming down. Fortunately, some push back is starting, even a growing push for most of the state to break away from the coast and make a new state. We'll see what happens, but it's going to be a fun fight.
