HOAs are symptomatic of Americans not understanding what freedom means. It's one thing for a community to self organize for the common good; however, moving in to a community where a committee decides what you can do with your property to preserve their own land value sounds a lot like the money driven big government democracy our federal government has become.
Plus, as pointed out, a lot of these homes are made of shit materials by unskilled bulk workers- and since most boomer/genx parents didn't teach their children practical home maintenance skills, buyers in these cookie cutter burbs cant tell the difference between built-to-last and built-to-sell

Nothing like paying a half a million for a house and being able to reach out your window and touch your neighbor's house.

I grew up in that sort of neighborhood and it was very nice to have a lot of children my age to do things with nearby but I wouldn't want to live in a place like that as an adult.

Also if your job isn’t nearby and you have to commute to a big city you pretty much won’t see your kids until the weekend. Leaving the house at 6am and not getting home until 8 or 9 is the norm. The upkeep on a house is a major hassle. You'd have to dedicate at least one day of the week to home errands. And the property and electricity bills are outrages. Also, niggers mostly break into homes, not apartments.

Lived in two when I was a kid in different areas, lived in one as an adult and just moved to another one in different states and have been here for 4 months. Every suburb I've dealt with has been great. I have lived in Rural suburbs with properties with 5 acre minimums for the most of my life; nature, adventure, and close friends have been my experience. All my friends who lived in suburbs lived very sheltered and comfortable lives.

I grew up on acreage and only recently bought a house in a nice subdivision. It really dpends where you buy and the price youre willing to spend. There are plenty of subdivisions that are more diverse and although these arent as bad as the hood, you definitely get riffraff. That said even the worst subdivisions ive seen in america are safer and nicer than most of what ive seen in Europe an Africa except for the most affluent.

Yeah, I live in Texas actually. I don't see this type of living in my county really, but if you go over to where the blacks and spics live I feel like it's really depressing. It's hard for me to put it in words, but I feel like the more you remove someone from a living situation like that, and into a rural environment, the more of a respectable person they become.
