with "modern tech" from gulf of Oman and Persian gulf it should not be too much of a problem to create an "invasion corridor" from either Iraq or Afghanistan or both

The West would beat Iran in a conventional war, albeit with more casualties than the media/neocons/sabre rattlers would like to admit. After then stopping insurrection would be a nightmare that would make Afghanistan and Iraq look like a walk in the park in comparison.

In every category except for combat boats/ships Saddam lost more in the Gulf War than Iran even has fielded.
The conventional forces of Iran would be summarily swept aside and an invasion of the country would not be in the US's strategic interest.

Note too that Persians actually have rather sophisticated defense tech and double the population compared to Afghans.

On paper Iraq had one of the largest and most battle hardened in the world in 1990. Against like opponents at least.

Against the Coalition during the First Gulf War, they turned out to be a paper tiger. Outside of a handful of elite Republican Guard units, most of the Iraqi soldiers were conscripts, poorly trained, poorly led and unable to effectively fight back. Many units surrendered to aircraft (the first time that has happened in history) before the ground war even began.

Iraq has a pro iranian shiite government.There maybe some thousand mutts inbetween a gazillion shiite milita men.
In Afghanistan there are not even enough mutts to secure the capital.In a case of war the mutts will be without any supplies and under constant attacks.
