My grandfather is from the mid northern part of italy and he got in under the white Australia policy, ive got to be somewhat white.

Here in southern western Australia, Italians are as an integral and positive part of the history and community of the area as any other of the old immigrants from Europe. We have many family run Italian restaurants and businesses and many Italian built and styled houses, I consider them an important part of the community the wog bastards. Historically no. They were considered Wogs, not proper (British) white.
There was a large, once off migration of Italians and Greeks after the war. They lived in ethnic enclaves. There was some friction, nothing huge though. Since it was a once off migration it has all been assimilated and diluted now. Those enclaves are mostly gone apart from some restaurants.
