I have prayed for years that He would reveal Himself to me and give me a sense of purpose in life. He has always been silent..
Why does God never let me feel His presence, Jow Forums?
you are praying to yourself for you are god
******EDDDDGGGGGGYYYYY******
Pray about that. He’s there user, do not fret. The Devil wants you to think he’a not.
God does not give you a purpose. It is your job to choose one that falls within the basic parameters. The field is wide open. You've got the ball. Now run.
You probably don't pray. But either way the fact that you're looking means he's found you. Don't think of yourself looking for him. He's eternal and omniscient. He's the searcher. You're the transient insubstantial thing he's trying to save. If you've ever felt a pang of conscience in your life god has revealed himself to you. If you've ever once in your life pondered the idea of some kind of ultimate absolute power god has revealed himself to you. The fact that you made this thread is proof that god has in fact revealed himself to you.
Francis of Assisi said that if god could work through him he could work through anybody. Who says that anons here who Christ-post aren't god directly throwing you a life-line to pull you in the right direction?
Penny Catechism, the tl;dr of Christianity: olvrc.com
Audio catachism with Fulton Sheen, one of the greatest speakers of the 20th century, he'll cover everything top to bottom: youtube.com
There are multiple promises that God made in the NT about this, I think the following verse is most clear on this:
"He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him."
- John 14:21
if god is silent there might be something you arent hearing because something else is in the way.
there had been even years when i was directionless waiting on the Lord.
We all feel this way, time to time. Wait on the Lord.
God doesn't give (You)s to memeflags except the Deus Vult one.
God is the superordinate principle of reality. The order of the cosmos. He's as appareant as the ground you walk on. Why doubt? Just read your bible and do what it says. If you don't you life itself will show fruits of why you should heed god's wisdom.
Indeed, sin is often in the way
"6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God."
Romans 8:6-8
Take a high dose of shrooms, god will show himself to you, promised
He is showing you your purpose.
You choose not to see it.
Defend your people.
Because you're a faghot
Is that urge I feel to do so really God?
describe the urge, because it might be but probably not exactly. If you're socially aware and want what's best for people that's good.
I COMMAND THEE TO STFU
Seriously user, those are trade secrets, I should smite thee for this.
you keep using nazi flags and posting shitty images on pol and he doesnt like that
In my heart it's the only purpose that holds up when everything else I've ever tried to dedicate myself to didn't. It nags at me and consumes me even when I'm in no position to do anything about it.
Yes I do.
Sounds like the beginnings of Christianity to me. Not wanting globalists to annihilate all existing nations and build their cultural Tower of Babel is something we can all get behind. What would probably win you over further at this point would be looking at what Christ asks of his followers and seeing if you actually take issue with any of it? Once you get passed all of the modern misinterpretations (largely new and caused by certain groups who don't want you thinking straight) and ditch your false modern idols you'll probably really like it. There's a lot to like without getting into the theology. Once you aren't overly skeptical or confused you're ready for some gospels and catechism.
I used to pray for God to reveal Himself to me as well, I wanted to know instead of believe, but now I realize why that's not the way it's supposed to be. He wants us to search for Him with our entire heart and mind. Only the ones who truly desire to find Him, will do so.
Needless to say, not every urge is of God. If the urge goes against His commandments, then it's certainly not what God wants you to do. Now, I don't mean to down talk what's in your heart, but it's important to prioritize.
"While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal."
- 2 Corinthians 4:18
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
- Matthew 6:33
Get to know Him by reading His word every day. You will find Him, and His purpose for you life.
To those willing to listen, God reveals Himself, instantly and without reservation.
I'll look more into it
What a powerful thread. I'm in the same boat.
Thank you Anons. Made my day. :)
my parents raised me atheist, but i've come to understand that this godlessness world that they want seems like a hell hole. i was thinking about joining the angliccan church, the building actually looks like a church unlike the catholic church in town which is a hideous mess of modern architecture with a tacky statue of jesus in the car park. os the anglican church as jewed as the catholics?
Why did GOD appear and make himself known every time back then? Seriously, jews couldnt walk 2 miles without GOD showing up, according to the bible. Faith is a prerequisite in christianity but people back then didnt need faith, they talked to GOD directly all the time. This never made sense to me.
Because you pray to a man, start actually praying to god (Allah)
Because they were God's people and many among them were good. They had just laws and sound beliefs back then. Abraham's trust won his people God's favour, and their eventual rejection of god opened up the possibility of a relationship with god to the rest of the world. Faith was still needed back then. You needed faith to know you weren't crazy and faith to obey God's commands.
It's certainly a lot easier when these commands are clear, but they're just as clear now as they were then. There's of course the issue of whether or not they're right, after all Muslims claim to have the right commands to. For that part you'll need to study, listen, think and decide what strikes you as right.
Also keep in mind that Muhammad claimed that god would sever his aorta if he were a false prophet and died an undignified and humiliating death complaining of aorta-pain.
Idk anything about the anglican church, but I do know that focusing on denominations is pretty much a waste of time.
Go to Jesus directly. Search for the truth in the Bible. You can go to different churches to search for other believers, but pay close attention to them. You can know a tree by its fruit. If their fruit isn't right, then it's not the right church. Also, you can ask God to bring believers into your life.
The cup is filling. Be patient.
dmt
How do you need faith when GOD gives you mana, the ark of covenant, blows down enemy walls with trumpets, follows your entire tribe as a thunder cloud the entire time...? This is all old testament and i know that Christians dismiss most of it, but every religion is like this, before everyone was born GOD and gods, depending on your creed, walked about, had sex with humans, played, but now this doesnt happen anymore because...
The Anglican Church is dying. Peter Hitchens clings on out of love for his country but their numbers are constantly faltering and their dogma is falling to pieces. Catholics are right but there's a huge spectrum church to church. Catholics range from abortion-loving sodomy-enablers to hardliners who believe the past 500 years of history has been one giant mistake and that the whole world is in desperate straits.
>a waste of time
Nothing's a waste of time when your eternal soul is on the line. Universalism is nice but nonsensical. The sacraments of the Catholic Church are necessary for salvation. Plenty of individual Christians from all denominations have been all kinds of wrong and bad throughout history, if one bad experience is enough to invalidate a denomination you can't reasonably choose any.
How is someone supposed to determine what is right? If you go around judging the whole world based on your own personal interpretation of the bible you're asking for trouble since you're effectively declaring yourself an infallible authority on scripture.
dude if I hear about DMT I swear, those machine elves are demons and won't help you find God. No drug will help you find God.
>He has always been silent..
He did not reveal him self much, the last time was with paul
What do you mean 'dismiss'. It's scripture so it's true. You need faith when GOD asks you to kill your son, or demand that the Pharaoh surrender himself to your will, or take a death-by-stoning with grace. Do you really find believing hard? Are you familiar with the basics of monotheistic theology? A lot of people tend to use a lack of definitive evidence for God as an excuse to avoid having to obey him.
Fulton Sheen's anecdote about the man of the theatre is probably always going to be relevant. The man says he studied all of the sciences and theology and scripture and spoke to clergy and couldn't be convinced there was a god. His friends said go to Sheen and he did. Sheen said he'd speak to the man all he wanted on the condition that he first go back to the hotel he was living at and send away the chorus-girl he was sleeping with. At this the man threw up his hands and said 'I'm kidding you just like I kid myself and everyone else.'
Years later Sheen met the man again and asked if he was still lost. The man says 'Yes, but I haven't lost the map.'
God is watching you, user. I for one had to learn, that you can not demand anything from God. He will watch over you and He will lend His ears to listen to what you have to say. Never expect an answer, though. God works in mysterious ways and He will ultimatively reveal himself to you once it's time to. You have to realize and understand that God is there for Billions of us, and pretty much all of us want Him to take good care of our souls. God is there for you, but do not expect Him to perform any wild miracles, because that will not happen in one big step. Instead, God will help you in several small steps that you will only see and realize once they've happened.
Be nice, be humble, be persistent. Believe in Him and His powers. Do NOT trust false prophets; not even the Church. Believe in God, that's the only thing you need to be under His warming and caring shield.
Dude go to orthodox mass, best at Easter
You'll feel it I promise
Catholic and proddie churches are devoid of the holy spirit
Just give it a try
> Nothing's a waste of time when your eternal soul is on the line.
True, we need to search for truth in the right places.
> If one bad experience is enough to invalidate a denomination you can't reasonably choose any.
If the bad experience is an unbiblical doctrine, then it's more than just a singularity. And it's not just a few denominations either, nearly all major denominations teach false doctrine.
> How is someone supposed to determine what is right?
The Bible holds the truth. We can ask God to show us the truth, and the holy Ghost can help us discern what is truth and what is not.
> If you go around judging the whole world based on your own personal interpretation of the bible you're asking for trouble since you're effectively declaring yourself an infallible authority on scripture.
This applies to denominations as well, since they all have their own doctrine and are convinced that it's the truth
uhhh just go out to nature and look around?
thanks guys, ill have a think on it. i do feel a strong attraction to the local anglican church, which is why i had wanted to join it, i feel as though im being comanded to do so everytime i walk past it.
he is silent even towards those who have felt his presence in their life for a long time
god's tough on us.
Don't lose hope keep fighting keep moving and you will recieve mercy
Remember you are not free of sin, only he is
>it's scripture so it's true.
Come on! All of it was written way after the fact, jewish historians posit that there was no slavery of jews in Egypt, no records of a pharaoh missing in that timeframe...
You believe that everything in the Bible is 100% true?
>;_; my jewish overlord won't listen
Try a real spirituality then.
Spend a week or two alone in the wilderness camping. You will have the experience of God's presence you are looking for.
Catholicism wasn't formed by one newcomer reading the bible and drawing his own conclusions based on his own limited wisdom and life-experiences. It was built upon the teachings of the original church fathers and the oldest and most learned Christians. The Trinity isn't something somebody dreamed up and forced on the church at gunpoint, it was an already largely accepted doctrine formalized after much scholarly debate and prayer.
Once you look into Anglo history and particularly its relationship with Christianity you might change your mind about that. Henry VIII was an evil, greedy man and his church is illegitimate. It's built on the King and Nobility's desire to pillage Church-wealth and Henry's desire to not be bound by sacrament. No theological justification was pressed, the men running your country simply decided they'd rather be their own Church than take orders from Peter's legitimate successor. That'll sound like more of a big deal as you read more.
Also it's a dying church, you don't want to shackle your children to it. They'll either end up like Peter Hitchens, going down with the ship, apostize and go back to the void you currently inhabit today, or convert to a non-meme denomination out of a desire to express their faith sensibly.
You drink floride water.
This causes your hypothalimus to calcify. That part of the brain is linked to spirituality and is theorized to be capable of psycic activity. In a sense it is your link to god.
Because you're a fucking nazi, that's why...
You kind of have to. You have to read intelligently, some things might not mean what they appear to mean at first glance, but generally yes.
Oh look another one of these threads.
Ill tell you because jesus is a jew. You want to feel a spiritual presence? Worship your ancestors gods. Seriously I was a christian for 30yrs and never felt cheap but I left christianity after being red pilled. I experince the gods all the time things seem to happen out of the blue for no reason good things. Ita kind of hard to explain but good things began to happen. Someyimes it was weird so weird because I would be needing something and somehow it would be there without me doing much as if the gods were watching out for me. Dont trust me? Find out for yourself.
Is god a drunk hunter who sodomizes campers?
Sure as fuck wont be from Jesus or christianity the old gods asking you to return
I see, i'm afraid i can't shut down my disbelief hard enough to believe in the bible. If i could, what would stop me from believing in any other holy book? What makes the bible more valid than any other scripture?
>What makes the bible more valid than any other scripture?
Holy shit shitlord, how do you deny the sir?
i hadn't looked into anglo history that much, which is stupid of me because i get most of my blood from the angles, tgen a small amount of blood and my name from tge swedes. its amazing how easily it is for people in the colonies to become rootless, im one of the few people here who knows the names of all my fore fathers that have been on this island. it really saddens me that we've lost this connection to our blood, to our past and to god. the anglican church may be dying but i don't like Pope Francis, and given my location the only other relegious sects are the mormons, and a small group of larping heathens in the forest bush
Muhammad was clearly a mad bastard making it up as he went, Hindu Mythology is an incoherent mess and their culture didn't progress while the Christian world overtook them by leaps and bounds, Buddhists don't claim to understand the absolute like Christians do, pretty much all smaller and dead pagan faiths are nonsense. What's the issue? Study them if you think they might have the right view of the universe. I don't believe you sincerely do.
Francis isn't a good Pope but there's a bizarre cultural swing taking place in the Catholic Church. All of the old guys in charge are wrinkly hippies desperately trying to make the church hip and hollow out all of its ancient traditions while most Catholics under 30 want the Latin Mass back and would prefer the Church to actually show some back-bone and fight what's wrong with the world rather than trying to engage in a dialogue with it.
Francis and his crowd control the Vatican now and will continue to for a while longer, but the new blood is much stronger. Give it time and the Church ought to change dramatically within our lifetimes. The weak of faith will probably drop off completely, leaving a hardened core to burst forth and spread the word to the empty-hearted masses.
Our current rootlessness really is depressing. Our cultural inheritance was cut down to knowing that the good guys won WW2 and the way the Ghostbusters theme goes in no time at all.
Are you praying to Jesus Christ?
Pray more, dont stop, believe.
Showing himself would make it so easy to believe, thats way.
>I have prayed for years that He would reveal Himself to me
I feel you, but reading the lives of the saints now I know why God is silent and feels like hiding. In Catholicism we believe in meritocracy, do good and feel the grace of God. Do bad and feel His wrath in the end. In order to merit God's presence/providence, one must confess all of his sins, take the Eucharist and pray the rosary. If heaven's grace that you will put into state of grace/plenary indulgence, you will really feel Him. But beware though, satan does not like it. He will do everything he can to prevent or stop you. Goodluck buddy
I dont belive any of them is right including christianity, which is full of problems aswell. I mean, how do you feel about the hundreds of books which are missing from the bible? Or about the ones the Church itself removed?
How about spirituality?
Then you cannot see and you cannot hear. You cannot feel and you only fear.
Plenty of wise and pious men put their heads together when assembling the canon. Which hundreds of books bother you? We have significant excerpts of the gnostics now and they seem to be quite dismissable. And as for the older stuff, Catholic and Orthodox bibles actually have more books than the Jewish and Protestants. Which ones are particularly bothering you, serious question. I have a friend who takes the gospel of Judas semi-seriously. Is it a particular thing or do you just vaguely remember reading once that there are books that didn't make it and aren't considered now?
You mean spiritism? Or just being spiritual? I think that there are forces that science cant explain, and i also think we humans are different and more "evolved" i a metaphysical sense. I just don't translate that to religion or a moral code, but i like talking to people who do, just like the aussie in this thread.
I mean taking a spiritual practice like kriya yoga or similar to see if you get any results.
The generally accepted 'scientific' worldview of our time will one day be recognized as a tool of English cultural imperialism. Of course 'science' can't explain everything because it's not really science, it's a particular school of English thought which took the word and ran with it. Science is knowledge. Science is hypothesizing about the state of the world and making observations to better our understanding of it. 'Science' doesn't ultimately care about this, 'science' wants you to believe that the world is nothing but empty competition and chaos so that you'll become demoralized and pliant. Darwin made a hypothesis about species emerging out of random mutation and being better at not dying and reproducing than their peers. This wasn't the first theory on evolution or necessarily the best one, but it's the one that the whole world has rammed down its throat. The reason why is that it perfectly dovetails with the English ideology of power and exploitation.
>I just don't translate that to religion or a moral code
That's the key, the powers that be don't want you thinking of the world in any sort of absolutes so they flood the culture with propaganda to make the idea anathema. If you deny Darwin you're stupid, theists all think the world was made yesterday and that sky-daddy doesn't want you to masturbate, etc.
If there are forces science can't explain have you ever considered ignoring the white-coats and talking heads and looking for yourself? Not saying throw yourself into a bible right away if it seems stupid, you'll probably want to one day but don't force it. Read around though. Take a serious look at spirituality. Start with the Greeks maybe.
>I have prayed for years that He would reveal Himself to me and give me a sense of purpose in life. He has always been silent..
You've been successfully vaccinated.
You have to be born again to feel the spirit.
It is not an easy task. Christ speaks of this to nicodemous "are thou an elder in Isreal and Know not these things?"
Likewise Peter in his 2nd epistle chapter 2 denotes the characteristics of the followers of christ who are gauranteed a second baptism.
It is an ardous process which is based upon your willingness to follow God irregardless of penalty or peril or cost.
Simply praying everyday is not enough, even the pharisees do this.
If you knew anything about God and Angels you would not frivolously ask for revelations from them but rather be grateful that in your weakness they are silent.
Steadfastly on good brother, the race goes not to the swift. God makes no mistakes your trust in him can be complete.
bevause God works within his presence is your presence. when you hear him you hesr your self. only when you have no self or.ego and God's consciousness is pure in experienxe and... fuxk it... just do kriya yoga.
it is the currency of true desire od seeing God
Look for wisdom, not pyrotechnics.
