However we do make a distinction about people who are obviosly asian or africa, as being yellow or black respectivly. With us european australians, we rather call ourselfs by ethnicity almost always. For example, its like, "oh my parents are eastern European" or "Im Italian-Australian". No one just says they are 'White Australian'. The only time that is used is in statistic demographics, by which any European is considered 'white/caucasian' anyway.

If being white does come up in conversation, it is usually insinuated as being synonymous with just being of european origin.
