Would nuclear war be as bad as Fallout or would it be even worse?

Also why are there still no vaults?

Shows how fucking mad you are that you dont care if everyone dies

no, big cities would go hiroshima and get rebuilt
relatively quickly
economy would be fucked for some time and there would be displacement issues, but nothing special if actual war doesnt stir up shit on foot

fallout is /x/

Are you implying the UK has vaults?

Attached: 22de83f7.200x.jpg (266x322, 20K)

Officially No
And the ones we "Theoretically" could have would be nothing like Fallout allot more low tech

post pics

It would be far worse.
Nuclear winter will wipe out all life above the microbial level.
Deep sea lifeforms living on methane gas will survive too.

Officially Listed most decommissioned
But you knows there moore

Attached: BunkersUK.jpg (590x860, 148K)

There might be vaults, mutt, but you're not getting in. Don't you know the shekelbergs already reserved the last place?

What am I looking at here? Looks like a russian prison cell
In theory, what would it take to survive?
And what would stop a group of people with guns from getting into a vault? Yes I know they took your guns away, but over here in non-cucked land we still have them. Seriously doubt a military grunt is going to defend jewburg in a nuclear fallout.

>Vaults are on bif cities
Big cities will get nuked 100%, I think going into the woods could be smarter.

Fallout is set about 200 years after the bombs fall. We have the pleasure to maybe become a feral ghoul or one of those skeletons you steal pre-war money from

Each is a Nuclear Bunker that we know about, most have been left to decay or sold off.

If you spend enough time working around Military Bases (in my case Devonport) you see a lot of Bunkers that aren't listed and no one knows what they are.
My best guess is secret Nuke Bunkers
(Background is random picture)

Sunlight, which is blocked out during an atomic winter.
So you either need to create artificial light for plants and other lifeforms, or you have to get above the clouds in some way (start living in space).

Go back to /v/.

make your house a bunker

>fallout is /x/

you're right, but not in the way you think. Nukes have come a long way since ww2, and we don't have rad-away to just get rid of rads. That shit is permanent in the sense that it will last longer than the human race... which is why they are still building containment structures for Chernobyl TO THIS DAY

Way worse

Physicist here. I don't work on Nuclear but from what I gather it would be much, much worse.

The basic gist of Fallout lore is that the development of the microchip transistor never supplanted the nuclear energy arms race, and so they ended up in a world where tech is large and clumsy with all those old vacuum transistors but nuclear energy tech is ultra advanced. In that manner they have correspondingly developed a whole range of medical and industrial assets that are directly related to nuclear technology (such as RadAway).

We live however, in a world of transistors and little knowledge about nuclear processes (much less than you imagine). We have no means of defending ourselves, cleaning up, or even going near a site that has undergone a large scale nuclear reaction (be it explosion or leakage). We also do not have the implied technology that is present on the vaults, they had very advanced life support capabilities and most importantly, actually could block most of the radiation (we do not know how to do this, it's basically just hope the ground above is enough). A nuclear war is not something anyone in their right mind would ever seriously commit themselves to. The consequences will last longer than humanity will.

Consider this: if you stand long enough close to a radiation source, you become a source of radiation yourself. As in, your very atoms start pouring out particles to the surrounding environment. In Fallout it is heavily implied that they can somehow deal with this, whereas in our world this would create a catastrophic chain effect of contagion, that would spread much farther than the actual blast zone of potential missiles. Because people would necessarily run away from war, with their clothes, belongings and themselves turning other things into radiation sources as they go.

This is not even to mention that the long term effects would probably not create nice ghoul prostitutes but rather cancerous blobs.

How else can we get out of the mess we are in. Almost any war is preferable

If a vault designed to preserve the white race were built, would you choose to live there?

No one here would be in that

Worse. Way worse. Imagine Jews turn into ghouls. Virtually immortal and ready to parasite on you for the rest of eternity. Also, a literal glowing CIA niggers as well.

We all should have listened to bunkerbro and bought ourselves a bunker of our own.

I bet he is really comfy right now

It will be nothing like movies and games, nukes won’t be used to that dagree the damage will be sever and all at once mostly around cities

Traditional fission bombs aren’t like Chernobyl they won’t creat radioactive deadzones for thousands of years the will just flatten 20-30 cities that will need rebuilding

Imagine all the bombing damage of ww2 but in a single weekend

>nuclear winter

There aren’t enough nukes to actually cause this, volcanoes and meteors have regularly hit the earth with more power than the worlds Arsenal’s combined

The power of man to the scope of the earth has been hugely overbolow

While you all are dying in nuclear hellfire, bunkerbro is paddling around in his bunker.

What is your excuse?

White & Based.

>as bad
You mean as good, right?
Also, when WW3 inevitably happens, when the dust settles, who are you guys gonna join: the NCR or the Legion?

The Legion already exists in the middle east

There are vaults, but only for elites.

>but only for elites.
Who will do their laundry?

Anchor exchange has 2 of 3 levels flooded due to the rising water table under Birmingham, so useless. Guardian in Manchester is still for the most part functioning. Kingsway is still viable, was for sale. Probably not in great shape though.

>The basic gist of Fallout lore is that the development of the microchip transistor never supplanted the nuclear energy arms race, and so they ended up in a world where tech is large and clumsy with all those old vacuum transistors but nuclear energy tech is ultra advanced.
Vacuum tubes, not transistors.
Transistors and diodes don't survive a nuclear war. They all get fried by EMP. Then welcome back to the stone age with none of your electronic gadgets working.

It'd be different
The destruction would be isolated and not as universal as fallout. You'd still get a nuclear winter and everything would die

>Who will do their laundry?
pic related obviously

I'm fairly sure Moscow has a massive underground bunker to house a few hours and people iirc.

Fallout would be fun, but we don't have RadAway yet.

Nuclear war would a a non event for rural retards.

>a non event for rural retards
>staying safe and comfy while watching the cities burn and be over run by feral glowing niggers
>retards
OK skippy

Almost all lifeforms will be killed by a nuclear war. Do you think they’d tell the public about vaults?

USA and Russia both have true semi-automated 'Doomsday Devices' designed specifically to render the surface of the Earth uninhabitable for humans. Israel most likely as well, by now. That these might be triggered is the fear of nuclear war.

B-but we're safe, right?
Nobody'd care about a bunch of sea-monkeys...

We don't even use traditional fission bombs anymore. Hydrogen bombs contain small fission devices to ignite the reaction, but the rest is fusion, which doesn't leave that much radiation.

You've been accounted for.

I am.

There are about 20 or so "restart bunkers" (used to be 50) in Sweden. Packed with tools, machines, vehicles, fuel, seeds, food, etc. to be used by survivors of nuclear war to rebuild. But with the budget cuts to MSB and military I fear the last ones are probably running at absolute minimum requirements.

Fallout from nuclear bombs is entirely different from fallout from a nuclear meltdown.

A bomb's fallout at worst loses almost all it's potency by 2 weeks, while a meltdown still has unreacted and more solid chunks of fuel that takes thousands of years.

You can literally start walking around in ground zero after a nuclear blast after just a few days. Not recommended you stay there for a long time, but you're not gonna die and cancer is a moot risk.

Sucks to be you here in x-yu every residential building built during socialism has a vault

Honestly we would see natural selection at work, and humanity would build some resistance to radiation

Nice pic

The Royal family have one everyone else is fucked smoothskin

The British made a very grim documentary about this very subject in the 1980s. It's called Threads. I tried to find it on YouTube but I couldn't so quickly. I'm sure you can find it somewhere on the internet.

>Would nuclear war be as bad as Fallout or would it be even worse?
No way as bad, if we're down to fallout you're basically only living for a few weeks.

You need agriculture.

Yep. You can walk around all the old nuke test sites in Nevada, and the Trinity test site. Radiation levels are nearly at background. Nuclear bomb fallout is really not a big issue after the first few days, unless grand water gets contaminated.

You can watch it here.

there are vaults, you're just not invited

good day.

Actually that's how original Fallouts were before Bethesda made it le wacky Reddit post-apocalyptic adventure time. In the first two games cities are getting rebuilt and civilization is getting back on track.

Also not to mention Bethesda era Fallouts take place a hundred years after the original two, and yet, technology seems to have REGRESSED.
