Of course you can buy a gun, you have all the rights guaranteed to you in the Constitution, even if you are not a citizen. This is the same legal principle that gives illegal aliens protections, and makes enhanced interrogation of terrorists in foreign countries illegal. As you are not a citizen, you should fly through the background check system.
