I'm pretty moderate politically, but this immigration shit is just absurd.
You bring in hundreds of thousands of people every year from foreign cultures and ethnicities, and let them set up their own ethnic enclaves in all the major cities.
Price of housing goes up, price of living goes up, and because normal canadians aren't subsidized via welfare and living together in mass communities like the immigrants, we suffer and can't afford to have kids while they survive and thrive.
So of course the birth rates go down and the government decides to import even more to replace the aging population. The worst part is we've white guilted ourselves into being in a position where you literally can't look out for the interests of your own citizens and countrymen, so any solution other than "bring in even more immigrants" is decried as a crime worse than treason.

I'm sure there were people who did plan it, but I believe it's gotten out of control of even the people who wanted it originally.
From my point of view it was started off by a couple of powerful left leaning idealists like trudeau senior and others who were sort of influenced by the worldwide push for equality and civil rights, and they wanted to create a country where people of all races intermingled peacefully and equally.
The goal was noble, their intent was noble, but they could not forsee the problems that would arise further down the road. And when there started to be small problems they hid and downplayed them because they believe in the end goal, they believed in the dream. And then someone else took over for them, but at that point they were not the original visioaries, so they took it further. This was not their idea but they had been raised to believe in it, so they had to continue. They had to do better, had to do more.
And so on and so on until you have people who are doing the country tremendous harm while thinking they are doing an excellent service to it, because they have been so blinded by the ideology that has been created.

The thing is there is a complete lack of intellectual honesty. We can't even talk about things openly because they are so ideologically driven.

I’m not sure what the end-game is here for the West. Even if a country (i.e. Britain) were somehow able to close the borders through the political process, in 5 years the party who closed the borders would get voted out, and it’s open borders again.
