The limits on their military were removed last fall I think it was. They have made many changes to their power structure to turn the defense force into a formal military and are pursuing equipment that was prohibited to them before. Supposedly they are going to occupy all their small islands between them and Taiwan over the next few months. Japan has an economy strong enough to re arm pretty rapidly and you can be sure we are going to encourage it.
