I think the solution is we are going to have to get used to collectivism and poverty but not in a third world kind of poverty. Just a life with less materialism. With the increased damage that is being done to our world, corporations will be swayed by the public's support of their competition to be more environmentally friendly.
The burning of fossil fuels is on the way out, the only reason why oil companies are still big economically is because of the lobbying of politicians. Donald Trump's support of the coal industry is a good example, or the wars statists drag our nations into to feed our insatiable desire for oil. Politicians are directly harming the planet by manipulating tariffs and taxes to make green energy as uneconomical as possible, perhaps this is because they genuinely care for those who work in these industries as their skills are outdated or it's for entirely selfish reasons, either way it needs to stop.
Oil is incredibly unstable, coal is a dying industry. It's simply a natural progression that we will switch to green energy as it becomes the only reliable form of energy.
