Video game addiction is real, spending 1000s of hours of your life moving pixels around on a screen is not healthy. I know because I've done it. That said I think playing an hour or two of video games when you have morning else to do, as a way to unwind after work or something, is probably fine. It's when it escalates to 8 hour long sessions that there is cause for concern

This is pretty much the reason why I was able to quit video games, maybe combined with growing older, but they don't capture my attention like they used to. The last game I tried to play was the witcher 3, I put maybe 10 or so hours into it but I just couldn't be bothered to keep playing.
