I'm sure it was a shill thread for a few reasons I won't get into right now. But ((they)) had really big plans for this guy. I think that it's really fucking stupid, but that wasn't my point. Lets ignore my opinion on right to work all together for a sec. My point was that is what the workers seem to really fear, as in it is their pet issue. And that's a big deal for a few reasons.
For one, the tumblr thots of old cared about gay marriage for some reason, it confused us and grossed us out. But it was their pet issue. The only moral outrage they could muster was some shit about faggots getting married legally, and how that made us all more equal. And we didn't take a stand to say "hey, this makes no fucking sense, and it's really bizarre". We let morons battle it out and legally change the definition of marriage, permanently. Again it's not a big deal to most in a sense, I certainly didn't give a fuck at the time. But they changed law forever, and it was just because the libshits were able to instill a sense of morality based on a singular issue, they even later rebranded it as marriage equality in order to force that change.
Another thing is, it drives trade workers away from their otherwise natural place as conservatives. I mean, I know a lot of these guys user, and they are anything but leftists. Some are quite bright, some are quite dumb. But they all unite on this one issue in that they really, really fucking hate Right to Work legislation.
I'm not a commie, I just think the law is ineffective, as in, little significant change happens. Maybe some rich old faggot can open up a slaughterhouse in a red state and hire Mexicans, maybe one or two contractors go out of business more than usual. that is about the extent of the effect of Right to Work irl. But... politically it fucking destroys conservatives, and red staters really need to grasp this point. It drives workers, productive, reasonably virtuous white men away from the polls. It discourages them from voting or makes them want to support diversity hire leftists in worst case scenarios.
It's just not worth it.

I think you're overthinking it. I work in Missouri, I make a lot of money because I have good skills. I have leave my employer at any time and they can fire me at any time. It's a two way street. If they're treating me poorly I can simply leave at my behest, and if i'm preforming poorly they can fire me.

I'm not overthinking it, the situation is incredibly complex. These people are not IT workers and most are not capable of changing career paths. We're talking about sheet metal workers, welders, men who get shit done. They are well trained and they know they are essential. My only point in bringing up gar marriage was that in the big picture, no one really stands to win by supporting right to work, especially in the long term as right now we can get politicians elected to help with the demographic and legal issues if we have more workers on our side. Risk vs. reward it's not an issue that's worth standing up for, and it's a pet issue for workers.
