From the looks of the recent reports given by the US(DoD) and French(Foreign Ministry), it seems that the recent bombing of Syria carried out by the US and European allies was based on quite flimsy "evidence." The "evidence" they provide for the April 7 attack is similar to that provided for past attacks.
US DoD and French FM "evidence" rundown: >videos and pictures which show yellow canisters which fell from above, presumably chlorine >video and pictures of deceased and living people without traumatic injuries but suffering from respiratory distress >eyewitness testimony of Mi-8 "Hip" helicopters in the area at time of the attack, and eyewitness reports of them dropping objects >witness claims of smelling chlorine and seeing yellow plume characteristic of chlorine gas >physician reports of victims in respiratory distress with symptoms of cholinergic poisoning symptoms (miosis, convulsions, foaming at mouth)
US DoD and French FM also claim that the attack made sense from a strategic perspective: >a few thousand Jaysh al-Islam fighters had surrendered a few days before but a few thousand remained to fight >Assad forces had incentive to flush the last remaining fighters out with chemical weapons
