Yeah, the projection is something I've picked up on too. It doesn't make any sense that they would gas their own people. Why would they would agree to dispose of their chemical weapons, and allow inspectors in to verify that they have been disposed of (inspectors that remain in Syria no less)? Assad had already won the war. Why the fuck would he do the one thing that would get the West's attention and bring them back to the country as the conflict is already ending? No one would fucking do that unless they were legitimately insane, and Assad has proven that he is quite rational, even if he is brutal in other ways. None of it makes any sense. Furthermore. the Pentagon says that the bombed chemical weapons facilities. Well, Assad got rid of his chemical weapons right? UN inspectors verified this and the Russians stood by it. Now there are reasons for the West not to trust the Russian government, so let's just look at the strike itself. The strike hit targets in the middle of fucking Damascus. What kind of person with a single tactical cell in their fucking body would put a chemical weapons plant right in the center of their capital, knowing that the west has it out for them? If they actually bombed a chemical weapons facility then why didn't anyone die? Why were they able to access the site of the bombing soon after it happened? None of it makes any sense, and now there are reports (not from western outlets, of course) that no chemical weapons facilities were hit, but pharmaceutical plants. I guess that one of the targets was a facility that manufactures antivenom according to some reports. WTF?

It's unlikely because Russia is backing up Assad. The US wished they would have an ounce of proof they have of chemical warfare in Syria in their WMD fiasco in Iraq. All that proof is mostly from the Obama era, and most of them are lame chemical bombs. They have to carefully isolate Iran in order to prepare it as the next target. That's what Israel is working on.

This is exactly what they were doing. The US did their best to destabilize Syria and give the rebels the edge over Assad, doing their best to look as uninvolved as possible. Russia realized what was going on and stepped in. They turned shit around. The US lost this proxy war. Now they are turning their eye to Iran. They will likely fail unless they can come up with some kind of tactic that has never been thought of before that will prevent the Russians from supporting Iran. Inciting and fanning the flames of a civil war is not going to do it this time unless they can somehow create a rebel force that stands no chance of losing. This would be next to impossible. But yes this is what they are doing. Since they are going to have a very hard time of it, the only thing that I can see happening is tensions between the US and Russia being pushed closer to the brink of direct action between the two countries, however each of us seems adept at avoiding such a conflict. It is going to be interesting.

The west is just so unbelievably corrupt. There is so much conflict of interest and it is internally fractured beyond belief. It isn't about left wing and right wing, it is about greed and an insatiable lust for more and more power. The problem is that there is so much internal competition for that power in this country. At some point it is going to reach some kind of breaking point. I have no idea what that would look like exactly, but there are a number of ways that I can think that it will resolve, all of which culminate in the US falling down the ranks. The US will be its own undoing. The current status quo cannot be maintained it is way too unstable and bloated.
