Had a roommate in college who is about the biggest edgelord I've ever met. He used to browse /b/ all the time and would always tell me about whatever fucked up flavor of the week challenge he was going to try (fapping to pictures of dead women and such). I kicked him out of my house for ordering heroin off of the silk road and ordering it to our house.
A few years later I got drunk and decided I wanted to see some fucked up shit so I went to /b/ and thought it was boring. This was 5 years ago or so, so by that point it was pretty much all "rate my dick" and trap threads and I got bored almost immediately. I noticed there were a ton of other boards though, and pretty quickly gravitated towards Jow Forums.
At that point I hated the left because of college but didn't really know any alternative viewpoints because I was college educated, and therefore thought the right was devoid of any intellectual basis. Before finding Jow Forums I was mostly just reading about muh cultural Marxism and the long march through the institutions on Discover The Networks.
