This isnt a terrible attempt for a novice such as yourself.
If you used PS a few tips for you:
Resize the head, try lining up the eyes
Soften the colors with a slight gausian blur
Try adding a few filters to match the skin tone better as well as using hue/saturation.
With practice you could be an adequate shopper.
