Why does Jow Forums admire East Asian culture?

Please excuse my generalisation but after lurking here a bit I've seen quite a bit of praise towards East Asian culture and especially Japan. Now I can't speak for Japan myself but I am Chinese.

I'm here in New Zealand for a vacation from Singapore and all the so called "degenerate" stuff that's prevalent in western culture, I see no difference from that and asian culture. We too drink too much, can be unruly and have our fair share of gold diggers and degenerates who watch too much anime and play too many video games.

I think I know why. We APPEAR to be better since many of our parents have living memory of hardship such as war or poverty. Like my parents emigrated from China to Singapore to escape communism. We don't work/study hard because we were born like that, it's just stuff that we're FORCED to do since our parents want to guide us to have good habits and to live a better life and never have to experience what they had to.

I feel if you remove family supervision we are the same as "degenerate western society". Without family checking up on us we'd not study, drink too much, play too many games, sleep around, spend money recklessly etc. Maybe a big difference is most of us don't really care about SJW...if that is a big difference...

It's really hard to explain in English. In Chinese we have a term called 小氣 (mandarin) or 驚輸 (hokkien) which can translate to "stingy", "narrow minded" or "afraid to lose out". The main motivator of this is to be the best we can since we all want to be richer and never experience poverty again.

Maybe these might explain it a bit...

Well of course, you are humans too afterall. How your society handles that is differemt tho to some degree.

Yes, I wonder which of their idols also loved Japan?

You fucking Malays are the reason no one wants to live in Malaysia. When Us and the poo in loos leave, I can't wait to see your economy crash.

I understand the hate. A lot in Canada too.

meaning??

>How your society handles that is differemt tho to some degree.

Do you mean because we are more conservative?

??

Adding to that, your commis even though they were pretty insane and consequent did not fetishize the destruction of the small family as "seedling of fascism" which was a very prevalent notion among leftists around the late 60s to 70s and who outrightly seeked to get into all social and pedagogic institutions. Thats not even a conspiracy, it was the openly declared goal of many western liberal movements and they suceeded.
They dominate now as middle aged people the way culture and media portray a lot of things and how laws handle fammiliar matters.
Also you never were teached to shame your grandparents for lets say the cultural revolution or other perceived wrongdoings as we are expected to shame them for racism/war/colonialism.

>I'm here in New Zealand for a vacation from Singapore
that better be vacation not visa

Because of anime, duh

You spoke about it yourself concerning your family values.
I dont know how prevalent ancestor worship is for younger generations in east asia but that it was important to your old people may add a layer of resiliance for your cultures and peoples towards quick change.
I can only imagine how it would be to do some small rite in front of my family tree every week or so, that must bind you a lot to the past and thus make you value the present more as its continuation and not a state that ought to be seperated.

>that must bind you a lot to the past and thus make you value the present more as its continuation and not a state that ought to be seperated.

I recently came from Japan as well and that's what Shintoism is all about (connecting the present with the past or not to lose touch with your roots). I don't know if anything like that exists in Chinese culture since we are heavily reliant on morals or teachings.

Difference, east Asia doesn't have state feminism, multiculturalism or SJW culture. Even if you have whores, they're not be gassed up by state when they inevitably become single mothers. There are still some traditional expectations. Men know their place in society, as do women. There are a lot of difference between western culture and eastern culture. Your countries don't incentivize destructive behaviour in the name of social justice. Your country isn't turning against those that built it.

>meaning??
Half the reason Asian guys are ‘bros,’ (besides the fact that they actually are;) to get closer to the women.

Trad.

Need me to break it down further, OP?

> when chinks and poo in loos leave cant wait to see the economy crash

We'll just import white people and japs to open businesses just like old times.

> I dont know if anything like that exists in chinese culture

The fuq, when the catholics came to china they had to give you a theological loophole to be allowed to continue some ancestor related rites in order to get followers at all.
Were your parents raised as maoists in an ideologically stalwart area like around peking or am I mistaken by projecting some stereotype on you that does not applie to the people of whatever chinese region your parents were originally from?

I just like east asian people they have a similar temperament to me. I don't gotta explain SHIT man. And I mostly admire Japanese culture, China/Korea not so much thought I recognise them as good countries.

Attached: DK4Khsb.gif (317x321, 255K)

This. Somehow this very complex topic is hard for OP to understand.

Attached: OP Thinking.jpg (553x497, 32K)

That can be a weakness as well. Sometimes I think Asians are too complacent and afraid to speak out. We love hierarchy, order and authority so sometimes we blindly trust our elders and who knows if they're actually good people. I've also seen the joke that Germans are basically the asians of Europe because they have no humour, soul and love authority and falling in line.

I don't think that anyone on Jow Forums admires the Chinese, I sure as hell don't. I've always viewed them as corrupt. And I get that Japs have some problems too but at least they aren't replacing themselves via mass immigration

There is a lot of feminism in SK and I think it is becoming more prevelant in Japan too.

I feel you are mistaken since Christianity plays almost no role in my family's belief. We were never exposed to Christianity growing up and my family made no mentions of it's influence at all. Most Chinese adhere to Taoism, Buddhism and Confucianism. This is known as the Three Teachings

What do you mean you don't have to explain shit?

>I am Chinese
Someone update this meme.

Like you know no middle aged people at all who keep track of their families dead ones and maybe throw some hellnotes in the fire once a year (if only for the sake of it and not due to literal belief in ghosts having to pay for stuff in some afterlive hellcity)

I mean I don't owe you an explanation for what I like.

Japanese are insanely polite, therefore there is a good impression of them. I can understand the disdain for Chinese. No matter, culture is very important to us. I can see now why Jow Forums feels western society is being replaced and looking towards the Asian mindset of maintaining it.

I don't?

Do you need to explain to Swedish people what you like?

Larp fag

Do. Isn’t that the case for every non-Western culture?

Yeah, and as far as I know, Japs are pretty honest too. I've always despised corrupt rat people (Slavs, Chinese, Hispanics, niggers, mudslimes etc. etc.). As for the mass immigration, it's not just about culture, it's also about genetics and the fact that even "based" brownies aren't my people. They don't belong here

>if our parents stopped caring we'd become degenerate like the west
It's almost as if that's exactly what happened to the west.

no

Like niggers you Muslim malays, shitting up everywhere

>t. non-muslim Malay

>Why does Jow Forums admire East Asian culture?
Because despite the fact that their societies are also deeply flawed, they are flawed in ways that seem better than ours.

For example, a suicide epidemic sounds nicer than epidemic gun violence in inner cities and terrorist attacks across a continent. Suffering from fatigue from being overworked sounds better to someone who can't find a job becuase of a high unemployment rate. A declining population sounds fucking great to someone who's experiencing unprecedented population growth from a huge influx of violent minorities.

The reality of the situation is that everywhere is at least reasonably shitty, but no matter where you go you'll see people who lust over what they don't have and who firmly beleive that the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence, even when in reality it's the same brown but just covered in a different shade of dogshit.

Even among us overseas Chinese (Chinese that don't live in China) we tend to distrust Mainland Chinese because they tend to be disloyal, untrustworthy and rats (like my expression 小氣). I know we Chinese might seem like all the same and I'm not offended if you see us all the same because I don't expect foreigners to know the difference.

Japanese people are so different from other Asians (especially east asians). I feel it is because Japan was the first Asian country to modernise and by the 1900s it was already on par with UK, Germany and maybe even USA. Therefore the Japanese have enjoyed prosperity for almost 150 years while other Asian countries like Thailand, Singapore and Taiwan only became rich after WW2. Japanese have been rich since the 1900s therefore they have no need to be 小氣 so they refine themselves and present themselves in the best possible manner

I made this thread a while ago and was bombared for "complaining like a first world problem person".

archive.4plebs.org/pol/thread/167533412

Essentially you are right. I couldn't have explained it in a better way. (I was on holiday in Japan at the time)

How did it happen?

Attached: 1d88bc8ad43e7ecfd98a7ade527d8570.jpg (800x800, 92K)

I should note that I don't hate all Chinese, I realize that some of them are honest, it's just that I can't tell the difference, nor do I really care. As for Japanese, AFAIK they've never been corrupt. Maybe it's because Japan is more homogenous

Can we post asian qts now?

Attached: 1524511216428.png (879x1569, 785K)

>why does a website founded on admiring Japan admire East Asian culture
Lurk more.

that looks like a 4 yr old

Japanese? Yes. Very much so.
Korean? No, fuck gooks.
Chinese? Hong Kong tier, yes. Mainlanders? Fuck em.

In school, we were taught the Japanese saying
Kaizen (改善) which means to continually improve. Since East Asians are collectivist we want to benefit the entire society rather than ourselves because when we benefit society, we are all improved so it's sort of a win win.

Then this doesn't make sense when Mainland Chinese are rude and cheating. I feel Mao and the Cultural Revolution almost completely destroyed Chinese culture. This video explains it quite nicely.
youtube.com/watch?v=UUCEeC4f6ts

I feel since Japan never had anything similar, they preserved their culture instead of destroying it like what Mao tried to do.

Only Japs (honorary Aryans). Not plastic/make-up gooks.

Yes

>Why does Jow Forums admire East Asian?

because there are no whites on Jow Forums just subhuman hapas and ethnik shitskin obsessed with subhuman anime culture

>eyes like sinkholes
are their any orientals that don't have irises as black as charcoal? It stops them looking fully human. Just dark brown would be nice.

Yeah, the crux of it is survival.
In the west, there is a real threat of our nations simply balkanizing because multicultural multiracialism is such a massive failure. We see life in East Asian nations as the easy life, especially in Japan. This is because in Japan it doesn't matter if you're a neet, if you play video games all day or what ever. You can still expect your country to exist when you die of old age, and if you choose to have children you can expect the country to still exist for your children. In the west, we do not have this luxury any longer.

I mainly mentioned christianity to emphatise that filial piety including ancestor veneration was such an integral part of chinese culture that christianity had to make concecessions to an unusual degree.
Now, if your parents were raised with popular beliefs or an asiatic religion around them then did they never made some fuss about gravecare or keeping images of the dead at home(maybe even doing stuff involving candles and fruit?)
The west is mainly dominated by protestantism which does not care so much about keeping a connection with the dead, you rather try to keep those out of your life after an initial funeral which despite steep costs often does not implie a continous effort just like how marriages get cancelled as well much more quickly then in the past. Keeping pictures of the dead visible is also not common from my personal experience.
incidentally, catholic regions here in europe such as bavaria and poland were some continious rites towards the death are still upheld (such as visiting the grave for offering votive candles at all souls day) people are also more conservative at large and interested in keeping the future more alike to the past.
Im a bit speculating here, but maybe secularisation+protestantism made us espeacially eager to revolutionise our cultures into the modern slurry.
I cant speak for canada-user and the anglosphere but at least here the holocaust did nullifie my grandparents right to rigid authority in the eyes of my parents generation, they in turn do not care to be rigid themselves. In america it might be that colonialism/apartheid has been made an unforgivable sin that lies on the past generation.

Attached: 68er german generation protests.jpg (457x343, 53K)

There's this saying of people will not learn without pain.

Essentially many east asian countries still have memory of "pain" (Japan being atom bombed, Korean War, China under Mao etc) therefore we're more conservative to ensure prosperity.

The West has been relatively prosperous since the Industrial Revolution. While you guys were learning to read and invent trains and computers the rest of us (except Japan who reformed in the 1860s) were dirt poor. Things got better after WW2 but we were still considered poor. Now many of us are better off but the difference is we still remember the hardships.

Western civilisation has prospered for so long and all the people who remember the hardship have passed on. Also you guys had big events like the hippy movement and black movement. China tried once with the Tienanmen Square protests and since then we never ever challenge authority ever again.

Hmmm are you basically saying mainstream western culture is not interested in keeping in touch with the past. I can see that. Whenever I go on western media it's always about how awful it was in 1950 so and so could not vote. Things are better now blah blah blah.

They report it as like it was a crime to be alive (and white) in the 50s. White people did terrible things to Chinese and vice versa but honestly we don't really fuss about it since our culture is to just accept things and move on. This is evident in China and Japan. The number one tourists in Japan are Chinese and the number one tourists in China are Japanese. They HATE each other but tolerate it enough to visit each other's countries

That's like asking if there won't be water when it rains. It's in our boring dna. Epicanthic fold and very dark hair and eyes. I've never ever seen an albino east asian person ever.

>implying its a bad thing

Attached: 1516583639563.jpg (300x250, 79K)

>not interested in keeping touch with the past
Quiet intensily as a cautionary tale though.
As an isolated example-
When trudeau justified gaymarriage not by describing a future state he wished to attain but by saying its 2018 that seemed ridiculous to some but ultimately stemmed from the mindset that we can only become morally better by leaving more time and years between us and those weird 50s people.

dumb frogposter

Honestly I stopped caring about Social news. The only news I care about nowadays is financial news. As long as there are no major stock market crashes or 2008 (or 1997 for Singapore) I'm all good.

Watching Singaporean and Western news is like night and day. News here in Singapore is very optimistic like new construction, roads, education, healthcare etc (hardly any crime) but news sites like BBC or CNN... apart from Muslims dying the "opinions" section just fits the left side perfectly. Now I know the meaning "social justice warrior" they always write like their championing change and being so dramatic for no reason

Half of Jow Forums is East Asian kek. It's an English-speaking Asian style web forum. There are even tons of female Asians here so if any Jow Forumstard is actually serious about meeting a waifu, you can do it right here.

Are you country choose fascism as a state system?
Do you think authoritarianism is better or worse than democracy?

No chance that you know a qt Asian who'll overlook that I'm part black? At this rate I'd accept a trap with a feminine penis

Low crime, high IQ, technology that improves our lives, what's not to love?

Yes it is. Us Nazis will gas child molesters.

Better because of stability.

Not necessarily "admire". It's more that we just don't dislike you as much as other cultures & races.
You surpass the very low bar set by Africans, Arabs, Turks, etc...

Basically the Singaporean government justifies that since we are so small, a one party state is ideal because of what said. I mean it makes sense but many people criticise Singapore for being way too "bossy" or authoritarian. Hell chewing gum is banned here and not flushing the toilet is a crime

That's it right there. Many westerners have divorced parents, single mothers, etc. the family is broken in the west and it is having drastic effects on young people
