The best argument against atheism are the atheists themselves. All you have to do is look at them.

You want to know what was here before the universe came about from the Big Bang? I have the answer.

We don’t know.

It’s that simple. Throughout human history many phenomenons have been complete and utter mysteries to, things we went for thousands of years without any proven answer to. Thanks to advancements in certain fields we found the answer. We used to have no idea where disease came from. Then we discovered that microbes were he cause. We used to not know what process formed our solar system and eventually Earth. Then we proved and formed a theory of these formations. Same thing goes for the prime mover, except we don’t know yet. Perhaps it was a god. Or it could’ve been that the Big Bang singularity had no beginning, and a buildup of quantum particles triggered it. It could also be an endless cycle of universes, where they keep having a Big Bang, expanding, and then collapsing, where they expand again. It’s okay to be content with not knowing something. You shouldn’t have to insert an explanation unless you prove it to be the only possible one.

Leaving behind whether there really is a god or not, religion is a key ingredient for a healthy society to function, its one of the main pillars alongside the family unit. Its a binding agent, but its most important function is that it provides a higher authority from which we derive our morality. Humans are not perfect, God on the other hand is. He can judge us, guide us and above all else forgive us because while we're all down here in the mud he's literally fucking omnipotent.

When you sin in a religious society you confess, the priest forgives you on behalf of God and tells you to do better next time, because you can be better. When you sin in an atheist society nobody bats an eye because we all wallow in our flaws. After all we're only human.

You don't lose anything if you belive in God, but you might lose everything if you don't.
