>Beginning with a staged attack that kills the President and most of Congress, a fundamentalist Christian Reconstructionist movement calling itself the "Sons of Jacob" launches a revolution and suspends the United States Constitution under the pretext of restoring order.[7] They quickly remove women's rights, largely attributed to financial records being stored electronically and labelled by sex. The new regime, the Republic of Gilead, moves quickly to consolidate its power, including overtaking all pre-existing religious groups, including Christianity, and reorganize society along a new militarized, hierarchical model of Old Testament-inspired social and religious fanaticism among its newly created social classes. In this society, human rights are severely limited and women's rights are strictly curtailed. For example, women are forbidden to read, and anyone caught in homosexual acts would be hanged for "Gender Treachery".
you still sure about the Christian ethnostate Jow Forums? because this is about what it would look like.
>reorganize society along the Old Testament >Christian pick one
Hudson Hernandez
eh doesn't seem so bad to me >:^)
Aiden Harris
Amazing how this disgusting jews are making series to try to stop the revolutions that are coming.
This to put woman against man and the castle in the sky to show a national socialist society as something really bad. It would be funny if they try so hard to demonize this idea and end up making it palatable to the normies.
Caleb Morgan
where's the issue?
Ryan Sullivan
(((propaganda)))
Connor King
Hmm.. I wonder who are behind this..
> .
Grayson Hall
so literally Islamic countries?
Josiah Long
Yes, that was the point of the story. It’s life under Islamic theocracy but from a western perspective.
Elijah Myers
This seems to just be a meme. I've never seen this happen IRL, and I know a lot of Muslims and liberals.
Adrian Thomas
>Blatant "Christian fundamentalists are just as bad as all the Muslim fundamentalists you all hate, checkmate goy" jew propaganda Its just boring at this point, maybe the trannies and degenerates should worry about arming themselves in case the govt goes tyrannical instead of relying on a hollywood made facebook meme to try and "gotcha" everyone they disagree with
William Wright
This show made no sense at all. >Some disease makes a segment of the female population sterile >Protag is lefty coalburner and is brooding bitch throughout save for before resurrection >Has a half black daughter >She gets put into a family unit and constantly given beat down despite being ONE OF THE FEW WOMEN TO STILL GIVE BIRTH >Wife is a megacunt and beats the shit out of the protag >Wife shows protag her daughter and some how thinks this is a good idea >Bitch starts fighting back >HHUUUURRR I TAKE ON SOCIETY!111!!!! >Didn't finish the end I understand that this was supposed to be a portrayal of Islam or something. But Christ, there's better feminist fiction than this crap.
This - if it's built around the Old Testament than it more closely represents Orthodox Judaism, not Christianity.
Tyler Long
this Its a little late for this kind of BS obviously its set at attacking the idea of a christian revival but its so soon after the decades worth of beating christianity into submission that its lost a lot of bite
James Nelson
Jews were the original muslims.
Isaac Bailey
one way or another and there are many reasons why women will become property as before 1868.
Leo Hernandez
>Christian ethnostate > overtaking all pre-existing religious groups, including Christianity
My guess is. They abolish all denominations other than their own.
Hudson Sullivan
"Human Rights" is just a fuzzy term invented by neolibs to defend degeneracy. You have a natural right to free speech. You have a natural right to defend yourself, protest, etc. You don't have a "human right" to have an abortion, etc.
Daniel Parker
judaism is more centered around rabbinical texts such as the talmud than the old testament.
Adrian Morris
>it’s a new type of Christianity, we’re totally not saying the current Christians are bad!
they had to distance it from real christians a little so the backlash isn’t too much.
Camden Brown
>suspends the United States Constitution under the pretext of restoring order. lolwut
I've seen this happen before. They'll just say "you're not a real Muslim" to an actual Muslim.
Henry Perez
considering liberal assaults on free speech, identity hierarchies impacting many of the fundamental processes of life (school/work), etc it really feels like this is a toe-may-toe, toe-ma-toe situation
Isaac Lopez
What is the premise of this show even supposed to imply? That the government should just let the human race go extinct so a few uppity bitches can "MUH BODY MUH CHOICE"?
Gavin Scott
I love how they have real-life terms for this but they still decide to use their faggy terms like "Gender Treachery."
Elijah Morgan
I just came to a revelation! Replace Christianity with Islam+Europe and this is a completely real scenario!
Men being forced to take women's rights away is an inevitability. The only question is whether we're going to be living under Christianity patriarchy or Islamic patriarchy when it happens. Women better hope it's not the latter.
Dominic Hughes
Back in the 1900’s traps and sissys would be arested for “female impersenation” and sentenced for trying to trick men. I assume its like that.
Josiah Walker
I haven't seen it, but the premise is that a Christian or Christian-inspired sect has taken over the country and forced everyone to obey strict fundamentalist interpretations of their faith, with totalitarian implications: no one is allowed to freely dissent from this order. (have I got that right?) there are 3 things I take issue with in this series. the first is what I like to call the "Children of Men" scenario, whereby the dystopia is brought about or aggravated by the fact that an unprecedented wave of mass sterility has swept the population. obviously this could be a commentary on the fact that developed societies aren't having children above replacement rates, but can double as a metaphor for the idea that the tyranny itself has brought about this corrupt state of affairs. look no further than the first scene of Oedipus the King for the prototypical example of this usage in Western civilization. that said, it feels like it's already straining the limits of plausibility - using a plot device that has never happened before, complicating our ability to judge the reasons why this state of affairs has come about. who knows how pathological a society might become if it gets desperate about its ability to perpetuate itself across time? what if the society we see depicted in the Handmaid's Tale is one of the only viable options for that new society to continue, with extinction being one of the likeliest outcomes without such stringent controls on human reproduction? the next one is obvious: why target Christianity, when these societies were at the forefront of every movement that gave women progressively more rights? (yes, I know why. moving on...) Not all Muslim-majority states are horrible places for women to live in, but the worst places on earth for women definitely fall within the Muslim world: Somalia, Afghanistan - even wealthy oil states in the Arab world are literal patriarchies, not the imaginary ones ahistorical western feminists complain about.
Ryan Bell
the last has to do with the fact that this show has been made with obvious political intent in mind. if this show were only broadcast in the Muslim world and other bona fide patriarchies 'round the globe, I wouldn't have any problem with it being made as stylish propaganda. the problem lays in the fact that those very same ahistorical western feminists who lack all cross-cultural perspective are glomming onto this show to validate their victimization narrative in what are objectively the freest societies for women that have ever been created. rather than educating their viewpoint that these sorts of societies really exists around the world, and the place they're living in isn't so bad, they're using this in just the same way that a new movie that shows a potential dystopian future where American blacks have become re-enslaved: it plants seeds in the minds of the eager viewer as a paranoid delusion that such things might actually be possible, and that "there is still a lot of work that needs to be done in order to guarantee that such things never come to pass." it promotes a form of leftist reactionary politics, whereby any perceived slight is used as a pretext for a massive overreaction to "solve" the problem. by way of example, there was an article in the Toronto Star that covered the Damore Google memo in stark, fearmongering terms - while at the same time using that memo as a perceived attack on the representation of women and racial minorities in the workforce as an opportunity to discuss the "Girls Who Code" initiative. the double-think was palpable: there is no official discrimination against women, but the fact that a popularly-misconstrued memo was cast as an attack on women in the tech sector, let's join in and talk about ways we can discriminate in favour of girls and women by giving them preferential treatment in the form of free extracurricular educational programs.
William Baker
Nope, that's radical left feminist dystopia. A real Christian nation would look The Mormon's today minus civil government.
Christian Martinez
And before that it was against the law for a woman to dress as a man.
Eli Hill
Holy fuck
Kevin Reyes
So let me get this straight, all of the gun owning patriots just say back and allowed this group to just take over? If the government fell, the people would just splinter off into groups, so might try to restart the government again. This show/ story is pure bullshit.
our school made us read the original book" it's feminist, sure, but (((they))) are making this piece of shit TV adaptation so much fucking worse my thoughts exactly this is the most realistic part of the story by far yes
this is exactly how i imagine proddie state would look like
Ryan Lee
I thought this show was about declining birthrates and women being "forced" to be breeders again with no jobs or anything except being baby factories.
James Ross
>Islam is being installed across Europe by Kikes and Pedophile traitors to destroy Western Civilization and establish a Global Tyranny Oy vey Goyim did you know 300 years a small group of Christians oppressed womyn! Gee that's awful, we should outlaw Christianity and embrace a real progressive religion like Islam. :^)
>society that understands people destroy themselves with freedom >old testament >more old testament sounds good to me
Ryan Reyes
I can't believe these current identity politics fears were were actually turned into a commercial fiction theme. In reality fundamentalists can barely manage their own assets or even hold theirselves together as a group before splintering off into other groups. Running a successful technologically capable state requires pretty much all of the elements that are in place in existing states.
Brandon Murphy
I mean, it's a really interesting peek into the ultrafeminist's mind. Nevermind the extreme paranoia towards Christianity.
It really shows their extreme anti-natalism. Of all the things they could focus on, the damage to Science a theocratic regime would pose, the bloody wars a theocratic regime would start in which MEN would have to fight and die, the slaughter masses of people belonging to different religious sects.
No, of course not, that's not their concern, a feminist's biggest fear and main focus of the novel is just having children. Having children is the biggest nightmare for these twisted, broken people.
Ayden Williams
Pretty much.
We're sitting here waiting for a remake of 1984 but we get stuck with the C grade half assed feminazi bullshit
>a feminist's biggest fear and main focus of the novel is just having children. yep, they love churning out clickbait about how going childfree is good for your health/happiness. youtube.com/watch?v=JzDvO22ZPUw
Austin Taylor
Jesus why do leftists think abortion is some unifying issue for women, 40-55% of all women are pro life.
Pure propaganda. The sexual liberation of women is the beginning of the end of society, and they know it. They will be emotionally swayed by this film to whore themselves out in the name of 'owning' their own body.
Once you understand how this stuff works on a subconscious level, you begin to see it everywhere.
Lol rememeber when all those cringe congresswomen wore red robes and white hoods after trump was elected but one of hem was an extra extra extra large and couldn’t fit under her robe
Someone has the pic
Jordan Perry
Its just a ridicoulous scenario to scare people. Its really, really stupid and unreal, a cartoon version of the thing.
Asher Phillips
it's obvious it was designed to be "the show that launched a thousand feminist thinkpieces," and that fact itself reduces my desire to see it down close to zero. (only some of the visuals - set design and costume - stand out to me as apolitical reasons to watch. but if you already understand its motives as propaganda, then one of the only reasons to watch it would be either to agree with and be entertained by said propaganda, or else to actively study the techniques being used to manipulate the audience.) this strain of film/tv creation is a "Motte & Bailey" strategy, where the propaganda and political messages are worn on their sleeve, so that left-wing commentators can cream themselves over the social significance and possible contemporary political allegories of these narratives; but the moment non-leftists point out that Female Ghostbusters or Black Panther were created in part in as propaganda order to pander to permitted identity groups, they can claim that we're reading to much into things or shrug it off with a "chillax - it's just a movie, bro" that, or else they howl in outrage that "you just can't handle seeing a female protagonist / black superhero, and you're just a closet misogynist / racist" or some garbage like that. but those of us who remember the Blade trilogy know that black superhero movies have been around much longer, and they didn't need to lean on a hamfisted political message to be competent action movies. and women have been movie stars since the era of Lillian Gish and Mary Pickford - literally since the beginning of the medium. I want "movies as political events" to fucking die already. if I created a movie that cast actors in unexpected roles, and media commentators started saying how "brave and right for our time" the selections were, I'd want to slap them upside their heads and say "No! I just used the best people available to tell the best story possible. Stop supporting this film for the wrong reasons."
Cooper Torres
Well, if they come to you, ask them to quote the Quran or Hadith. What is "your" definition of woman's rights by the way?
