>The Basics of Christianity, pastebin.com/H06aCfNe This one I highly recommend to people wanting to relearn the faith, learn of Catholicism, or simply learn Christianity better.
>Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying, Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread. But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death. But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
>This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
>But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
Has anyone experienced anything like this? I went to visit a latin mass (I'm a non catholic), and when the priest started consecrating the eucharist my heart started beating like a machine gun and I had a panic attack. I haven't been back since.

What's wrong with this cross? What?

It sounds like you just spooked yourself, but I've heard stories of demons making it difficult for people to attend mass.
Carter Murphy
His crucifixion is a pretty big part of christianity
Orthodox are alright, just have to recognize the Pope's supremacy Nothing much, how about you? whew Sedes get out. I don't see a problem with the bent cross. I don't know, maybe you know deep down that you need it. Talk to a pastor and maybe consider taking RCIA classes, I'll pray for you. Why'd you checkout the mass?
Proddies, especially those American evangelical Churches, are almost beyond reparation. It's no use talking with them. Indeed they should have their own general.

>hurr durr muh evil pope >ignores all obvious ill-intentioned heretics that destroyed the church like john paul 2, john 23, paul 6 >because they were muh conservatives modernists get out
Brandon Martinez
>slightly slanted cross >heresy I think you might be pushing it a bit to far. I did not mean to antagonize you, just assumed. I'm sorry. Ok buddy.
I've been interested in Christianity after becoming blackpilled, and I also feel spiritually sick honestly. I think God has been calling me, but I've been ignoring him often
i was talking to his interesting carrer where he openly espoused heresy like universal salvation and excommunicated, fought catholics who were trying to preserve the faith from modernism he represents
but hey lets look at slanted crosses and pope francis rhetoric

what you guys dont seem to realize is that YOU are the original protestants. if it wasnt for rome, we wouldnt have all these sola fide low church heretics running around. once the unity of the mother church was broken, it was open season for heresy
i really think if most "catholics" knew church history they wouldn't be catholics. some of the major doctrinal changes to the faith that you guys have made are so recent that the ink isnt hasnt even dried on the parchment yet
i love you guys, but i'm not going to play this "its us against the proddies bro" game like many orthodox do because failing to rebuke a fellow christian who you truly believe is in error is not how one shows love. you are in a state of rebellion. renounce your heresies and we will welcome you back with open arms
It has to do with historical development where focusing on the suffering of Jesus Christ became more important than his resurrection. Orthodox icons don't usually depict Jesus bloody on the cross.
We don't believe in the Pope. We believe in God. It's not about the man, it's about respecting the office. Humans are inherently flawed, the leaders of churches, including The Church, are no exception. This is why we must pray for their obedience to the Magisterium, their boldness in their proclamation of the Gospel, and that they will lead the souls entrusted to them to Christ.

Not accepting "Orthodox" errors isn't the same thing as being prideful.

ACCEPT THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST OR PERISH IN IGNORANCE
remember, you are talking to people who teach intelligent design in science classes here so be ready to employ 3rd grader language if you want them to understand you
Isaiah 22:20-22 (KJV) >20 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will call my servant Eliakim the son of Hilkiah: 21 And I will clothe him with thy robe, and strengthen him with thy girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand: and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah. 22 And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.
Matthew 16:18-19 (KJV) >18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Orthodox user is right. We shouldn't make fun of other branches of Christianity. The Church teaches that if a church has the tenets down (Jesus is God, Virgin birth, Christ is the Savior, etc), they have validity, just not the fullness of Christianity that you'd get from the Catholic/Apostolic Church. If that's enough for them to love Christ and be good people, then they have a shot at salvation. If not, let's pray that they don't abandon their faith in God. Our Lady is Mary, Help of Christians. We should help them if they need to find a way to reconcile with God.

Svetasvatara Upanishad Ch 3 >The non−dual Ensnarer rules by His powers. Remaining one and the same, He rules by His powers all the worlds during their manifestation and continued existence. They who know this become immortal >Rudra is truly one; for the knowers of Brahman do not admit the existence of a second, He alone rules all the worlds by His powers. He dwells as the inner Self of every living being. After having created all the worlds, He, their Protector, takes them back into Himself at the end of time.
Rig Veda 2:33:9-10 >9 With firm limbs, multiform, the strong, the tawny adorns himself with bright gold decorations: The strength of Godhead ne’er departs from Rudra, him who is Sovran of this world, the mighty....Worthy, thou cuttest here each fiend to pieces: a mightier than thou there is not, Rudra. RV 7:46:1 >To Rudra bring these songs, whose bow is firm and strong, the self-dependent God with swiftly-flying shafts,The Wise, the Conqueror whom none may overcome, armed with sharp-pointed weapons: may he hear our call Rig Veda 1.114.5 >...Grant us, Immortal One, the food which mortals eat: be gracious unto me, my seed, my progeny.

Vishnu is the Para Atman, not the Absolute. At the dissolution Vishnu will not exist, only Shiva. Shiva/Rudra = Brahman = Atman

>convince me that the doctrine of Christ's true church conforms to my worldview about human nature and flatters my human reason i wouldnt be doing you any favors if i did. if you believe Christ is your Lord and your God then all you should be concerned with is serving Him to the utmost of your ability. if you believe the roman church is the true one then serve Him there. but i always doubt that catholics believe this deep down
