I noticed something during the first one.
I browse pol on Brave, on my Android phone.
Usually when I do this, webms don't work, I need to open each webm in a new tab to watch it. But on the day of the Jow Forums "shutdown", suddenly they did work, as they would in Chrome. I could just tap a webm and it would start playing.
Not sure what this means, but it might be a clue as to the nature of the shutdowns.

Jow Forums had it's swansong in 2016, since then it's been dying a slow painful death, it's boomer infested now, a Reddit overflow, populated by those who heard about it's moments of true greatness and who want to LARP as some kind of online radical activists, but the party is over, it's like a video game that used to be popular, always full servers, it had that uniqur something that drew the right kind of player, but the flame burnt out, it became stale and now there's a few sad cases clinging on for old glories sake and a few noobs who saw a 4 year old gameplay video and wanted to see if it's still as fun, but they soon uninstall.
