Portugal and drugs legalization

In the debate on drugs I often hear how the complete legalization in Portugal has solved the problem. But is it true? I'm against drugs of all kinds, but how can I prove my point? Redpills needed.

>Redpills needed

Portubros needed to explain

From what i understand it ain’t like drugs are actually “legal” there. Users are not arrested and addicts have to register for their dope. They didn’t actually legalize them they just stopped fighting “the War on Drugs”.

I had a hard time buying weed in lisbon

>Huge drop in drug arrests
Fucking obviously
>More people accessing drug treatment
Obviously when you don't get arrested
>Reduced adolescent use
Good
>Reduced number of overdose deaths
Good
>Reduced aids
Good
>No major increase in drug use
Still could be a massive increase, but as long as it isn't "major increase"

Whoever made this image is retarded, I'm in favour of drug decriminalization, but this is just slop.

We didn't legalize anything, drugs are just not criminalized anymore. You can have a certain amount for self use without going to jail for it. The maximum will happen to you is probably having to destroy/smash the drugs in front of the police officers.

Of course if you're around with a high amount of drugs in your pocket, that means you're a drug dealler and something will probably happen to you... like going to jail.

That's because only gipsies and niggers sell weed on the places where tourists hang around. And it's not even weed. It's a mix of grass and shits.

They never stopped fighting the war on drugs.
Users can't register their dope.

So, same as in spain.

Don't let the hippies fool you OP, we have a war on drugs going here, a coke druglord was incarcelated recenlty in spain (which is useless because he will keep organizing the distribution from prison anyway, we need death penalty tbqh) and while corruption makes it less intense that it should be, there's no way in hell that we would just ignore the problems that drugs have produced in this country, specially in Galicia.

Anyone in social work will tell you that legalizing drugs is a TERRIBLE IDEA. Most people in need of "social help" just don't have the life skills necessary to manage simple things that most of us have for granted, like basic money management, taking out trash (i'm serious) and shit like that. Imagine if these people had widespread access to drugs, or to put it differently imagine if drug sellers were able to target these retards with impunity... A bunch of rich kids who wanna get high on dope with even less consequences that they face today are not a good representation of what would happen if war on drugs stopped (and I say this as an occasional acid consumer myself).

Indeed, legalizing drugs is a terrible idea. At least from my point of view.

Even weed legalization is a bad idea, since weed is a gate for heavy drugs.

I dont fucking care if some idiots want to destroy their life by getting addicted to drugs. I say, treat them the same way as cigarettes: only allow 18+ people to buy them, prohibit their consummation anywhere but in their own home, and introduce heavy sanctions to anyone who does drugs near minors, even up to jail time. Also no State-founded recovery centers or healt services for drug users, it was their choice to fuck up their bodies after all.

>I'm against drugs of all kinds
so don't use them, but don't tell me or anyone else over 18 what they can or can't do with their bodies

also this

Are you really this dumb? You nanny state lovers are pathetic.

Look up the UN report on the topic. Legalization was not the reason why drug mortality dropped, but rather the fact that at the same time funding was given to rehabilitative programs.

The issue is that if your society is sick then you will also have worse living standards. You cannot separate yourself from the rest of society.

This is why sweden will become a shithole.

sweden is a shithole because of authoritarian socialism

>No major increase in drug use
So there was an increase? Let's not do it then.

ok mamma

Tbf just legalize it.
While you're at it remove warning labels from crap as well. Life finds a way.

I liek you.
People who deal harder stuff need to be punished severaly though.

like systembolaget?

Oh you. Yea fuck'em, selling mouth wash tier stuff for 25$ a bottle and telling you it's for your own good.

niggers ruin everything

after 25 de Abril the fascist dictatorship was overthrown and as a result of socialist leaders being in charge our ecnomy tanked right when the hippie movement was booming the result was a loose fiscal policy allied with the improtation of a degenerate lifestyle that blossomed in America in 1968, it is estiamted at the height of this decadence more than 1% of Portugal did heroin, there were drug addict slums in every city that had to be tore down

You wish sweden had authoritarian socialism. The reason you went to shit is because you decided to abandon the nordic model aka. democratic natsoc in favor of neoliberalism. Muh rights is a fucking stupid way of thinking especially when your society is being overrun.

On the other hand, the war on drugs of Duterte has led to a drop of the use...

How? People literally harass you on the streets to buy hash.

>stop arresting people for drugs
>incredibly, the number of arrests decline

war on drugs btfo, all we had to do to stop criminal activity was to allow it to happen.
