Minimum wage is like playing a cat & mouse game. Eventually the inflation is going to win out; deal with that (((Central))) issue and things will start to fix themselves. Also minumum wage should be brokered at a county/township level not federal/state

capitalism benefits the private sector, not public sector teachers working for state education programs.

I wonder how weak your mind is that you've allowed them to convinced your that people having money is bad and that if you have more money, things instantly get more expensive.
Or maybe you are "them" and you're trying to convince more people that's a fact. Face facts, the only reason certain people want people that they consider lower than them to have less money is so that they can have more money themselves. Being selfish doesn't matter to hustlers.

Yes, inflation wins out. Inflation is inevitable given that the world’s economy runs on debt and futures markets. But that doesn’t mean minimum wage should be ignored. It should adjusted for inflation every year or tied to GDP.
Ryder Nelson
Most states min wage actually are tied to inflation and have planned increases. The problem, is that the government constantly lies about the inflation rate and under reports it.

The vast majority of public school teachers today are shit. Most people who look to that as a career just do it because they see it as a safe and easy job that is essentially glorified daycare. Thats why women greatly outnumber men in that field, and most of the male teachers are full grown basedboys.

What are the most popular jobs in america? And also the lowest paid? More businesses need cashiers and sales reps than anything else, making them high demand yet low skill. When you think about it, it's strange that you have a business that needs 500 people to do a certain job every day and 1 person to do a significantly less important job every now and then and that 1 person gets paid exponentially more money.
Thats completely reasonable. Sometimes even corporations deal with it themselves, one of the businesses I worked for gave themselves their own minimum wage across the board that is significantly higher than the federal minimum.
Isn't that just college and boarding school?
Jason Morris
>Can't read/into basic economics: the post
What I'm saying is minimum wage is less of an issue than inflation. What good is $10 an hour when your purchasing power is undermined by the billions if not trillions of Petrodollars? Eventually all that money's coming home; it's a big bubble waiting to burst. Debt based currency also isn't necessarily the only way, but it's made a relative few exorbitantly rich

What do government schools have to do with capitalism?
Gavin White
There are so many issues with public education in America it would be hard to cover them all in one thread. I'll try my best to bring them to light for you since you've started this troll slide thread.
1. Education degrees in the U.S. are a joke. The saying goes, if you fail at engineering or medicine go business. If you fail at business go humanities. If you fail at humanities, go education. It's the bottom of the barrel as far as a challenging curriculum goes. The supply for teachers is much greater than the demand because of this and the market is flooded with worthless teachers.
2. School systems waste almost half of their budgets on busing. When they started programs back in the 50's to help poor people and niggers get into schools too far away it kinda made sense. Now you can have kids that get bused to a school across town when they live right next to one because of districting, minority-majority transfers, special education requirement transfers etc. We should really look into have city buses take kids to school in the cities, and bus the rural kids to their nearest school. If the parents want them to go to another school they should have to drive them.
3. School districts are paid for heavily by property taxes. In richer rural communities the school districts get much better funding. More taxes collected for fewer students. In poorer urban communities the opposite is true. Also, when you have hords or niggers living in a shoddy apartment that the Jew doesn't pay property taxes on because of section 8 housing exemptions you have a shit ton of people in a school district that aren't even paying for their own kids.
part 1/2
Benjamin Butler
4. Minorities are extremely disrupting in class. Most good teachers quit because they cannot teach. Who would want to do a job that you cannot excel at? The answer is lazy pieces of shit teachers who don't care to begin with. They've lowered the curriculum in the United States to cater to niggers every few years. Public schools here are just 7 hours of state-funded babysitting.
5. Politicians and the more affluent people in positions of power or influence send their children to private schools. They have absolutely no vested interest in the public schools. They have nothing to lose with experimental education programs on children because private schools aren't subject to it. You have people making critical decisions about our youth that have nothing to lose. A dumber voting populace is easier to manipulate and sway anyways.
6. Private school vouchers take money from public school districts. If you have half a brain you can get vouchers to send your kids to private schools and have the state pay for it. This takes money from the public schools causing further problems.
7. The measurement system for public schools success is pre-written tests. The teachers teach the test answers now. There have been huge scams for this. Doesn't matter if you understand why we went to war in WWII, just that you get the year right, or can answer who was in charge of England at the time.
How do you fix all of this?
part 2/2
Nicholas Bell
Why not give up their welfare job (aka teaching) and get a more higher paying job in the private sector. If teachers are as smart as they say they are, it should be easy for them.
Oliver Hall
Wow you are stupid. Those on that chart are the most employed stations, not the most needed. Pic related are the jobs most needed, as there are people lacking who can do them. Unlike the jobs you posted, which have people lining up to do them.

To take your example, if you have 1000 people willing to do the job that requires 500, you will pick the most economic ones. If you have 10 people for a job that requires 10 people, you will try to pay as much as you can, to get more people interested and steal them from other companies.

100% of public school indoctrinators should be fired and people with children given a school voucher at a locked value so that state involvement with (non)education slowly decreases with currency inflation. If you can afford to have your woman stay at home and raise your kids to your liking, you shouldn't breed.

>Blaming Capitalism for the failure of public institutions
Adrian Nelson
Paying teachers more won't get them all houses if there aren't enough houses for them to buy.
Population density and geography force a cap on the housing supply, meaning the supply/demand curve favors eventually skyrockets. When your population is sufficiently large, housing becomes too expensive for the layman. Since education is a public institution, you would have to raise taxes enough to pay teachers more than the layman. The layman is generally not happy with that, and will vote out people that would enact such a policy.
We need to stop using state tax to subsidize population density. Let the cities do it. The only reason it's (partially) sustainable, now, is the cities reap taxes from the rural areas of the state via state taxes.

Samuel Jackson
it's almost like someone would undercut you if you charge a higher price because the supply is much higher than demand for teachers right now
Sebastian Edwards
That's just the fake in demand. If you have a 24 hour business that requires 50 customer service associates on rotation, they are the bulk of your business. If you don't have them and you aren't giving them a significant reason to stay and aren't keeping competitive with the thousands of other customer service positions available, your business will fail. Meanwhile you have 1 tech guy that repairs equipment when it fails. Somehow he's more in demand than the 50 associates that operate your business? How does that make any sense?
By the way even then they're doing it completely wrong. When I worked customer service and something broke down, I'd look at it before they called the tech. For any facility related repairs I was always able to repair anything I had the equipment for. For any of the technology repairs, about 50% of the time I was able to repair it, with either the same issue(not having the equipment) or not wanting to risk permanent damage on some of the more expensive equipment I wasn't familiar with, nor was there any manuals on.
All of my repair knowledge was self taught, most of it by examining what needed fix, finding out how it works, and fixing the problem. If you have 50 employees doing your customer service, you most likely have at least one employee who you can teach to do this. Companies can be saving money on this if they don't care about liability(which they do).
This is just an example though.
Isaiah Rodriguez
Because those city and state officials are elected. Raising taxes is generally unpopular. How do you not understand this?
Nathaniel Cox
Throwing money at public education problems in America is like sending food to Africa. It just seems to make the problem bigger.
Logan Baker
No that makes sense. So the question should be "how can a teacher make more money, when their pay is tied to levying taxes, which is an unpopular action for elected officials(and also the population) to do?
Aaron Wright
Honestly, they should cut teachers salary in half and just hire twice as many. The system is so dumb now you could have a literal retard teach. Just follow the premade schedule, teach the test, kick out the loud kids and move on.

1. Ban school loans.
2. Stop busing, leave it up to the parents.
3. Some people have less money than others. Not a problem, internet access is ubiquitous.
4. Ban coloreds.
5. End state funding for education, let the free market fix it.
6. Ditto
7. Colleges need non-GPA metrics of aptitude. To encourage teaching beyond the tests, only employ teachers who are members of the community and have the parents devise local standards.
Kevin Nelson
I think we just found our next Secretary of Education.

because I can take any 50 random smucks
I have to employ a specific, highly trained individual for the last job. and there are only 2 of him in the county.
if you could repair the devices and were being payed for customer service: you are not demanding the pay you deserve, you are part of the problem, not the solution.
also; you aren't supposed to service those objects; its actually against your contract and the contract of the store you were in. They would fire you if they thought about it for one second. you exposed yourself to a large risk (docking of pay and firing from breaking something) for no reward.

I think Overpopulation ( especially in major city centers) is being overlooked. Of course some random jr. high teacher is going to think they should be paid more when their class is 40-50 kids deep. Schools built in the mid century were not prepared for a boom that they have now. I'm sure it's exhausting.

Yes, because it's much easier to fill an entry-level CS spot than it is to fill a job which requires a technical background to do. Having a second tech guy is much more valuable than having a 51st grunt, unless your systems are so simple that you only need one dedicated employee (this is only becoming more rare as time goes on, by the way).
And in a low-maintenance operation like that, the system and support for it are probably outsourced to a contractor to begin with.

Corporatism is more like the government grabbing companies by the balls.
Capitalism is companies having the power to feed the pigs in office to do their bidding. Actual democracy does not exist. The People vote according to whatever side of the propaganda war appeals to them most. Corporations and their paid political whores do the real work.
In Corporatism the government *actually* represents the people by being the opposite version of a trade Union. The free market always exists, it’s just monitored and acted upon proactively by the government and corporations, instead of being monitored and proactively acted upon entirely by corporations.
When Putin went to that factory and strong armed all the Executives into giving better wages, that is an example
of how Corporatism would ideally work. (This is an isolated example dont run with the idea that I’m saying Putin is corporatist, my favorite person, etc)

Maybe schools shouldn't be concerned about making sure every kid has a friggin' iPad. Maybe they shouldn't worry about spending their budget on new LED boards you can see from the street that reminds people they have Memorial Day off. Maybe schools, like everything else run by the government, turns out to be a money pit. Maybe we should look into vouchers or private schools. Maybe if there's actually competition between schools they will strive to become better, pay teachers better as well, let them have stipends for performing well.
My wife works at a public school. She sees them piss away money on stupid shit. For instance they're spending untold sums changing the school name from Robert E Lee to something less offensive. All signs, shirts, decor, flooring, buildings, etc. that bears the name and the old logo need to be changed.
And why are they doing it? Cause a handful of shitty, overly sensitive students petitioned. When they asked the community how they felt the vast majority opposed changing the name. The board voted to change it anyway and piss away the community's money to change a name they didn't want changed in the first place. Their recourse? They have none.

I'm more converned with the useless "smart" boards. I had to volunteer at an inner-city school and they had smart boards in every classroom. They spent 12k every year per student but the actual teachers sucked.

no they dont. the system needs an overhaul. Break it down to $/student and it becomes clear that theres enough money in a classroom to properly pay a teacher a liveable wage.
I did the exercise and in my region it comes to around 16k+/year per student. classes of 30-35 students. 8 months a year.
