>Angela Merkel has suggested Europe could enter a trade war with the US if Washington does not continue to exempt the EU from import tariffs it has placed on much of the rest of the world.
>The German chancellor said she had the support of both Theresa May and French president Emmanuel Macron.
Except this is a retarded move because the US is in a far better position for such a trade war than the EU, which has very little to offer domestically.
Macron and May are also pretty retarded for agreeing to this, given that the EU cartel favors Germany so much.
Blake Adams
Europeans are such cucks lol.
Landon Cox
What do they export to the USA?
Jaxson Lee
A trade war is just what the German economy needs, we need our exports to get fucked big time so the sheeple will work up
John Taylor
these fucks will take it all but they won't give back. whats going to happen when america stops buying 80% of their shit?
honestly though merkels probably angry about that 300b invoice for NATO trump gave her(pic related)
BMWs and mercedes, maybe some engineering products? thats about all I can think off.
The EU countries together, would rank as the 2nd largest supplier of imports to the United States in 2016.
U.S. goods imports from the EU totaled $416.4 billion in 2016, down 2.6% ($11.2 billion) from 2015, but up 25% from 2006. U.S. imports from the EU accounted for 19.0% of overall U.S. imports in 2016.
The five largest country suppliers of imports are: Germany ($114.1 billion), United Kingdom ($54.3 billion), France ($46.7 billion), Ireland ($45.5 billion), and Italy ($45.3 billion).
The five largest categories in 2016 were: Machinery ($64.9 billion), Pharmaceuticals Products ($55.2 billion), Vehicles ($54.6 billion), Optic and Medical Equipment ($27.5 billion), and Electrical Machinery ($26.8 billion).
U.S. imports for consumption of agricultural products from EU countries totaled $20.6 billion in 2016 (total imports of $20.7 billion). The EU countries together rank 3rd (to Canada and Mexico) as a supplier of Ag imports to the United States. Leading categories include: wine and beer ($5.7 billion), essential oils ($2.5 billion), snack foods (including chocolate) ($1.5 billion), vegetable oils ($1.3 billion), and processed fruits and vegetables ($1.1 billion).
U.S. imports of services from the EU were $176.5 billion in 2016, up 1.4% ($2.4 billion) from 2015, and up 35% since 2006. Top import sectors were travel (including education) ($37.0 billion), transport ($33.8 billion), and IPR ($18.9 billion).
We will win with ease. Let us just target republican and swing states again. However, this time we can add Trump afflitiates. US can take pressure like the EU
The US will win big from this. They have a trade deficit with the EU, so they can afford the tariffs.
Gabriel Gomez
It's exactly backwards. The US does very little trade outside NAFTA. It's a net importer. It can afford to impose all these tariffs. If the US stopped all trade overnight, its GDP would grow by 3%.Trump has all the leverage here.
Most EU countries are dependant on exports. If their external market shrinks, their economies will shrink as well.
since when did the EU have more gdp then the USA, and since when did chinas GDP approach even close to 12 trillion?
wtf man where did you get that pic
Zachary Rodriguez
>america win tradewar with Europe
wew, dumb ameriniggers thinking they are Kangs or something.
Ryan Gonzalez
It's PPP you retard. Can't read?
Michael Lee
Learn economics Hans. Net exporters are always at a disadvantage in a trade war. A = buyer. B = seller. If A refuses to buy, does that somehow help B? It's pretty straightforward. The EU is a net exporter (i.e. seller) into the US. The US is a net importer (i.e. buyer) from the EU.
The saying "the customer is always right" exists for a reason.
Hunter Gutierrez
This will be carefully crafted by German economists to damage the French economy while pretending to help it
Brayden Hernandez
>If the US stopped all trade overnight, its GDP would grow by 3%.
where did you get this statistic from?
Evan Myers
>Except this is a retarded move because the US is in a far better position for such a trade war than the EU
US: massive budget deficits, heavy industry and consumers extremely dependent on EU/German exports, trade wars heavily impact US consumers
EU: relies mostly on trade with Russia, China, Japan, Korea and the Middle East, robust economy at the moment, open to free trade with everyone
Oh oh, who will be hurt by Trump's trade war policy that is aimed at artificially increasing steel and aluminum prices in the US? Who?
It is as if people really believe imports of raw materials and building blocks of industry is bad. I guess this is why China has purchased half of Africa... in order to make the Chinese citizen a second class citizen below the Africans. I guess Americans really figured that out fast!
>Macron and May are also pretty retarded for agreeing to this, given that the EU cartel favors Germany so much. I see this as a bit of the ol' 3d chess on their part, you know who has the most to lose here, out of the 3? BMW&Mercedes. What does USA export to Europe and why is Trump not happy with the deal?
Matthew Johnson
His ass
Ayden Richardson
Actually, the US antagonising the EU has just accelerated the federalisation of Europe. The Peter Zeihan types are making two fatal mistake: 1) they ignore human capital -- the population of the US is stable, numbers-wise, but its human capital is rapidly deteriorating (at a much faster rate than in Europe, even after the migrant "crisis") 2) they put too much emphasis on "real-estate". modern technology has rendered geography pointless. by and large.
In short: the EU doesn't actually depend on the uS. Merkel is calling Trump's bluff. Sure, the US will win the trade war. But that's the short of it. In the medium to long term, this is a net advantage for the Continentalist faction.
Pic in espouses a short-sighted view of how things will go down.
Jonathan Ramirez
The definition of GDP. GDP (Y) is the sum of consumption (C), investment (I), government spending (G) and net exports (X – M).
Y = C + I + G + (X − M) For the US, (X − M) is negative. They're a net importer. So them stopping all trade overnight means their GDP would grow. Once you do the actual math, you see that it amounts to about a 3% growth.
Hello brainlet.
Jackson Moore
>there is only one buyer >fucking brainlet
Charles Walker
It's a simplification, dumb-ass. Short-term, you cannot damped the loss in trade with the US by finding new markets to export to. The EU is already trading globally.
Elijah Green

>Actually, the US antagonising the EU has just accelerated the federalisation of Europe. I don't think it will help outside of France and Germany
Nolan Watson
this US has the capability to replace most of the imports in time. So basically you are going to change european crap for american crap less cheaper, but in the proces american economy is going to reactivate, money is going to move, jobs are going to be created, investments are going to be made. The only cost that you are going to pay is that some crap is going to cost a little more.
For the EU is basically losing a market, no more money, no more place where to put all the crap, no more crap to be made mean less jobs to have with means more niggers with nothing to do except to rape girls in the streets, etc.
Asher Foster
>Merkel >Macron >May the jewish trio of Europe is complete

US will lose. Especially if they take on both the EU and China at once. You guys really tend to overestimate your economy, don't you?
Jason Taylor
>said latvia

kek. EU trade with the US represents more than half of EU trade, but less than 1/4 for the US. The US has the resources and dormant capacity to replace those lost in a trade war, the EU does not. Cry harder faggot

>american education

Good. India's got your back dear US Americans.
Cameron Long
I like how Macron, May and Merkel represent the entirety of the EU. Really makes you think.
Oh, this multipolar world is not just a meme. Nice.
Adam Bell
Stop talking about it and just do it already, rip that bandaid off. The sooner we're divested from Europe the better.

this is what i've been thinking the whole time about this free trade/trade war argument going on
doesn't america have the ability to produce everything like we did before? reactivate our steel industry, start making things again, god knows we'll always be able to feed ourselves. isn't this exactly what we wanted to do by voting trump? supreme american productivity again?
Brandon Jenkins
you are still irrelevant
Isaiah Foster
Just like you. :*

>US: massive budget deficits and this meme needs to die. 60% of the deficit is money we owe ourselves. For example, we set a massive budget for our Dep. of Education, that budget is part of the deficit and can be canceled at anytime
Can you turn it into an actual war desu? I wan't to volunteer for the American army and kill g*rmans
Levi King
The coolest part is the fact that the next logical step for the US would be to establish deeper trading relation with V4 countries.
This would allow them to achieve two things: - deepen the rift between V4 and marxist countries like Germany and France - reinforce Central Europe as the new base of operations in the region for their military
For us, it's a clear win. The odds of getting out of this shitty union or reforming it without the crushing influence of leftist Germans get higher, and we have a lot to gain in terms of economic growth and security.
The only downside is the fact that our relations with Germany would deteriorate even further, but let's be honest here: they may be our biggest trading partner, but they're extremely hostile in political terms and they constantly meddle in our affairs.
Any Pole that doesn't support Trump here is either a cuck, a retard, or both.
We will put import tariffs and sanctions on trumps business and we will put import tariffs on business who are located in republican states and swing states. We are ready for trade war, the USA will loose and drumpfs business will be ruins.

That's the only place where the change matter. France is the most Euroskeptic member of the EU currently. Most other countries are pretty pro-EU. Recall that France initially rejected the Lisbon treaty.
The Americans antagonising Europe (and France) will make the French focus their ire towards the US, and away from the EU, making them more willing to reform the union or federalise, out of geopolitical necessity. Macron tried to get Trump on his side, and failed. The EU course is now pretty much set in stone.
The only other significant resistance to federalisation is in the nordic countries. Contrary to Jow Forums, Hungary and Poland are actually pro-federalisation, except they will push for a more confederal model.
Jace Martinez
It become a debate about the objective of a nation state and what means to be a free market.
Is the objective of the state to serve the free market? Or to put the free market in service of the nation?
What is the treshold that define a free market as free? Taxes aren't free but anti dumping policies are free? Because even if what a lot of kikes like Ben Shapiro define as "free market" has a lot of controls. Technically speaking China could decide one day to shove all their mass slave production shit and totally destroy most economies of the world. But "free market" have control mechanisms against this type of practices.... So, why this is free but putting taxes on economies that are not as beneficial to your contry isn't?
Covering the truth of the matter there is a lot of ideological bullshit.

Poland and Hungary's vision of a federal Europe is far far far different to that of France and Germany's there are rifts there that can easily be exploited and with the United Kingdom no longer remaining in the EU it is simply a case of divide and conquer.
Isaiah Miller
>exempt the EU from import tariffs She can get fucked. I don't want any kraut or frog shit here. I hope the glow in the dark niggers give her a polonium flu shot. muslim loving commie cunt. Also, fuck every last one of you eurotrash curs.

I think the UK and US should team up against the EU, Anglo v Europeans.
I'm really not in the mood of Londonistan posting.

Merkel is stupid, because the German economy isn't doing so hot with their 1 million dependables Trump knows this, and Merkel has no ground to stand on, while Trump's economy is growing.
Kek praise Trump, hope Trump destroys germany and France.
oh god please do it, i'm getting giggity just thinking about it
>usa declares trade war on eu >germans in this thread: BRING IT ON AMERICANS ULLLOSE >usa precedes to buy everything from poland and hungary, and britan if they ever leave the EU
It kind of is at the moment, but Germany is pushing us too hard and it's turning into a failed state anyway, so we need a new trading partner. It's either the US or China, and the moves that Trump is making suggest that we're going to stick with America.
The EU influence is actually what's keeping our economy down at the moment, the parts of our economy that are outperforming their German competition are essentially being knocked out of the race by new EU regulations. For example, they're currently trying to fuck up our continental transport companies and prevent us from building a nuclear powerplant.
I'm almost certain that our government can't wait to tell Germany to fuck off.
Ryan Torres
you tell those yurotrash.
See this beautiful gunship?
it has a NATIVE AMERICAN name, it's designed to kill imperialist yurotrash.
does that mean german cars like BMW and volvo are going up in prices? If so fucking good, trade war away.

Please convince Italy to leave too

>60% of the deficit is money we owe ourselves. No, the deficit is the deficit.
As to your debt, I find it funny how Americans try to stress that states and local/cities hold US federal debt... then stress how much debt is outstanding in the EU, when in the EU 90% of debt issued by the states is held by other European states and European companies/banks/insurance companies etc. ... a lot higher percentage than in the US. Plus, there is no federal debt in the EU, the EU is not allowed to make any debt. All the while US states AND the US federal gov have debt outstanding and Americans never count them together for some reason... but say that the holdings of US states of US federal debt somehow make the US debt burden lower.
Face it, the debt levels in the US are insane. This is why Democratic and Republicans don't want to do anything against immigration, only with tens of millions more people can the debt level rise stay somewhat under control, as GDP growth is bolstered through immigrants (of whatever kind).
german cars arent really that high quality as they once were in 60ies and 80ies.
if ur going to buy a POS lemon it may as well be american.
Ryder Lewis
>China >Help the EU The only thing china does is to the benefit of china and no one else. USA isn't building military islands to block trade routes. USA isn't invading other country's land cause it shares borders. USA isn't selling poisonous baby food.

yup, they depreciate in value faster than spoiled milk.
Lincoln Collins
Is it? We get most of our energy for Russia and electronics from the gooks Most cars you see in the street are produced in the EU and Japan I dont remember ever buying food that was not made in the EU
Jaxon Diaz
>Does the EU have import tariffs on our goods? If so, eat shit old world.
Under the American created WTO, every country in the world has the same tariffs on the same products for all third country... if there is no Free Trade Agreement in place.
There is no FTA in place between the EU and the US, so of course Americans have tariffs on the EU imports (and on the rest of the world) and the EU has tariffs on American imports (the same as for everyone else).
The EU wants no more tariffs on US imports (hence the EU pushed for TTIP), but Trump shut down TTIP, as he hates global trade with countries that may have competitive companies which could take market shares away from his US crony corporatist friends. I mean come on, do you really think GM or Tesla or GE or Boeing want a level playing field for product sales in the US? Those companies do not want to compete on a level playing field, they want as few competitors as possible.
