To be fair, the Girl Scouts are a joke and basically a front for selling cookies. I can see why some people want girls to be able to go camping etc, but I don't think mixed gender organisations are the way to do it. They should be focussing on making the Girl Scouts a female equivalent of the Boy Scouts instead of trying to lump them all in together.

This is actually a GOOD development OP...Now men can remove their sons, and organize their own local scouts with handpicked young men and carry on. I was in an informal scout unit based off my parent's church and we shot rifles, did canoe trips, camp outs, etc. No uniforms, no political bs

They way the media has been reporting on the changes to Scouts is misleading. The name is changing from 'The Boy Scouts of America' to 'Scouts BSA'. The 'B' still stands for 'Boy'. The organization is not going to be fully gender intergrated. Instead, they are setting up a parallel, but seperate, program for girls, based on the traditional scouting curriculum. Boys and girls will be having their meetings, activities, and trips seperately. The true purpose of these changes is to boost the organization's membership numbers by competing directly with the Girl Scouts.

I honestly expect this to be the legit reason they're keeping it. Boy Scouts will shape boys and girls alike to be more androgynous whereas the Girl Scouts will shape MtF faggots into more traditional lady-like people so they integrate into society.
